MIA SURFACING
Dear friends, have had a freak accident and have been layed up for almost a week - with no end in sight; knee is badly damaged and am in a cast from ankle to hip. Can't bend my leg to stay at the computer for any length of time. Have been off work since that stupid conference, the accident happened the day after I returned home from that - I sure am feeling the ol' woe-is-me syndrome...pardon my french, but ****! Will see the ortho. on Tuesday and am almost certainly facing more surgery -- my leg is hanging by a thread...thanks to all for your wonderful and inspirational responses to my posting about the lady at the airport. You made me feel better about the whole incident. Also, the "name of 1st pet and mother's maiden name" is a game a bunch of us women played in Colorado -- after a couple of Marguirita's it became quite hysterical. What you come up with would be your name if you were a stripper -- or as Pam said, a porn star! This had me in stitches. I miss you guys and will be in touch as soon as I can. Janelle, I'll respond more fully to your post later but wanted to say so good -- so very good -- to have you back. Love to all, Reenie
NO WAY! What the hell happened Maureen? Oh my gosh - I can't believe it...you poor thing! I'd ask you to tell us all about it but obviously your time online is limited. You need a laptop my dear. Holy cow - I hope you heal up quickly. Take care of yourself my dear...I'll be thinking about you!!!
Dina
DINA, I have just spent the last 40 minutes scrolling back through old posts to try to find you. HOW ARE YOU??? The Board has thinned out considerably with only a very few of us staying active. Can you believe it's going on four years? I'm struggling. I've stayed in the low 140's for the past two years but am really falling into old, old crap habits. I just wanted you to know I've been thinking about you and wondering how you got through everything with your marriage, your son, your new life...won't you please post to the group? I think hearing from you would be one slam-dunk of a shot in the arm - and we all need it - especially me...hope you're well, my dear friend. I truly miss you. Maureen
Well, partner........
As usual, we're on the same page! I got a bit frisky with some projects around the house and strained my back, so I'm hobbling a bit myself.
However, it sounds as if you did a much more impressive job than I did! What the heck happened??? I'm really sorry to hear that you're laid up. You are becoming all too familiar with the surgeon's table. my friend. I'm OK with the elective stuff.......but let's not make a habit of these trips to the "body and fender shop"!!! Just because you are now as light and limber as a ballerina, don't get ****y.......you're still breakable even if you feel like "Supergirl" LOL!!!!!!!!! I wish you a speedy recovery and no complications.
Mike
