do you remember me? i was the happy smug person who knew everything about losing extra weight. i had gained 10 pounds and after a few days of sticking to my guns lost 5. ooooo how smart i was! well its the usual no ryme or reason to this whole business,. i lose 5 i gain 3 i lose 3 i gain 2. this is sticking to the program. water, protein, weighing measureing, the measureing cup and scale are my best friends. well those nasty buggers aren't helping. i do have a question. does anyone know who the very first person was and when this surgery had been preformed? i recall many years ago at least over 30 of reading about this new break through surgery that could suck the fat out of people. liposuction! back then i was heavy and though good for those people who could use it. i thought to myself i would do that if i needed it. well now i'm thinking about it! i have little spots that would be great if i could get that taken care of. O O O i have an appointment with a specailist about a face lift! isn't that silly? the cosmetic surgery that i'm looking for is a face lift? well my neck is loose and my face now has wrinkles. ok i'm 53 but i do not want to look like i'm in my 60's. for the fifth time this week some twit at dunkin donuts automatically gave me the senior discount. argggggg ok so the twit was barely 16 and was tryijg to be nice and i didn't refuse the discount but i wasn't happy with them automatically giving it to me. very good friends say oh how awful you don't look like your in your 60's a few just laugh! those are the friends that are being taken off my christmas card list! hahaha i'm not planning on this making me be any younger looking than what i am. i am what i am and thats all that i am. i'm 53! not 60 thank you very much. seriously?anyone know where i can get info about thye first beginnings of this life changing surgery?

Can't really help you on the resources for the beginnings of the surgery other than just refer you to Google to search, but I am with you on the looking older thing. I have to say I am thankful that I had this surgery in my 30's and I haven't had as much of a problem with wrinkles since losing weight, but I do have a few issues cropping up that I want taken care of as well. I feel like I look older but have been told I look young. But I'm waiting for that to change. Especially if I get the last 30 off like I'm hoping. And as soon as I know my nutrients are where they should be (Thanks to Janelle for pointing that out), I am going to pursue plastics for my body, and eventually go for a facelift. I will wait for awhile on the facelift though because it's not as bad as everything else (yet) and if I do lose more, I'll see more sagging and it will be more necessary. Although we all had this surgery to save our lives, let's face it, we also want to look better. Why wouldn't we? We've spent our lives on the sidelines trying to hide from people. Now that we look more normal, we mourn all those years spent sitting on the sidelines and want to participate more. Looking old before our time isn't what any of us want. I am with you 100% my dear. You gotta do what you gotta do. This has been quite a process, that's for sure. Dina

Hey Pammy While you are waiting for the process of plastics why don't you try changing your hairdo, change the color, go get a facial or something like that. Go get pampered, it does help. I recently changed my hair color (got rid of the dumb blond look) went to a golden brown & everyone says I look better. I don't think they are all lying, so it must have worked. As for the info on the original surgery I don't have a clue. All I know is it has changed quite a bit from what they use to do. They use to take most of your intestines out now they don't. What we had done was much better for us than what they use to do. Hang in There!! Marilyn, the Bearlady b

Pammie, who are you seeing for your face lift consult? I think about having this done - although sure wouldl like to tighten things up without surgery. Let us know how this goes for you - I'm really curious about the cost and whether or not this is done in the surgeon's office or with a hospital stay. I'm with Dina on this, we deserve to look our best and feel our best - whatever that takes for each of us. Reenie

Reenie, I'm going to Connecticut surgical arts. they are located in Norwich Ct. Not far from where I work. I know a few people who have gone there for TT's and other surgery. I go on friday and am so excited. Now I"m thinking about maybe doing a TT too! One of my friends told me that after a while it gets to be additive this surgery thing. I don't know about that but I do know I'm curious and excited. I'll let you know how I make out.
