Sweet P doesn't like milk the little Pooper!
Almost certain I am temporarily lactose intolerant. I have been since day 1 too, so I didn't experience the gas and BM the correct way...so I have it under control now and gas is setting in....I just had the most delectable tasting scrambled egg I have ever tasted! And most of the yolk was gone....funny how things change! I hope it is temporary, but I guess I can get used to milk substitutes if I have to.
I just ordered some books for my gastric library today and there is a gal who has a great website that I found from here...she sells products plus had her surgery 3 years ago and has just written a book coming out March 24 and I purchased it in advance. She makes so much sense and is very helpful in food for life situations.....and I am now happy to realize that my favorite food in all the world....Shrimp..... will be good for me!
Shrimp ****tails will be my dining out staple...
I also ordered a cookbook for gastric bypass patients.
My co-worker gave me a "Congratulations!" gift for my WLS (she had WLS 2+ years ago...she's got toothpick legs now, I'm telling ya...she was one of the people I saw from beginning to success and had a LOT to do with me choosing WLS - she's been my encyclopedia for questions I had). It was a cookbook by a Victoria Bowen (I think her name is...it's upstairs right now: if that's not her name, I'll correct it in a post tomorrow...), and is for WLS people. It's a GREAT book with pretty yummy sounding dishes in it. I'm pretty sure the author (Victoria Bowen...) is on OH, or you could "google" her.
I'm not one to sit and eat a 'meal', living alone as I do. Picking on a piece of chicken breast, opening a can of asparagus and eating IT, or eating Healthy Choice Honey Roasted Smoked Turkey Breast a slice at a time out of the package is more in line with a 'meal' for me, and I don't intend to become domesticized again just 'cuz of WLS...
...but if I did, the recipes in this book would be my route.
Just an FYI for a great recipe book if you're searching for one.
