VEIN INJURY?

For some reason my surgeon uses the neck as the place to put the IV. I look like I have been on a date with a vampire! I was afraid to go to the store and have people staring at a 50 year old woman with what looks like a big hicky on my neck and yes it hurts too. I had to lay down for thirty minutes after they took it out before I could go home the other day

Yeah it happens. nothing to worry about. it may be sore for some time. i work in a lab and i see pts from the hospital with it all the time. now if it gets red or swollen again i would call the doc. LaDonna -22

The vein they tried to IV must have blown. Some people when their veins blow get very bruised some don't. Best thing is to get either a heat pad or ice to put on the spot
