This Headhunger is driving me nuts!!! Stuff that I would not look twice at before this surgery I almost drool over. I thought I would have a total mind change of food but it has been difficult!! My husband cooked spaghetti for Him and my niece yesterday. It was so hard to watch them eat as I sat there eating my ounce of chicken salad with a cracker. I yi yi!!! I just needed to vent!! Thanks for listening! Bethany AKA Da Offishal Riddler and Bertha 10 Days into NewPouch and feeling great! -25 lbs!!!! Yayyyy A riddle a day will keep the Marchers pounds AWAY!

Bethany - You have done so well! Don't let a little spaghetti get you down! You go girl! I'm still pre-op, so I'm not saying it'll be easy, but you've lost 25 pounds in 10 days! When was the last time you lost 25 pounds? That's awesome and you should be proud! -Wendy aka Prozac Princess Open VBG 03.15.04

Hey Bethany... DON'T LOOK!!!! don't even look their way... Go in another room and read a book or log on here.. It gets better and it does go away.. You don't need the food physically and now you have to re-train your mind.. I read a post op's posts about his wife's baking and he was almost crying and after about a week he was IMMUNE he doesn't even care now and after about 8mos he's down 120lbs!!!!! Hang in there and DON'T LOOK hugsssssss

Oh Bethany, I am so THERE. I am having no trouble keeping down anything I try. I want food all the time too. I won't even LOOK at the FoodNetwork because I am afraid it will just send me over a cliff into Bingeville (where I have been permanently banned!) I am never hungry, but I know I need to eat for nutrition, and yet I just WANT to eat all the time. I think for me there is going to be no "Honeymoon Period" as far as not wanting food. My H.P is just going to be regarding the temporarily smallest size of my stomach. The insidious thing is that I feel completely normal - I don't feel altered at ALL. And so the fact that I can't have the foods or the quantities I had before is almost disheartening. I know I will feel differently after my body really starts changing, but it is a really difficult adjustment. Eve 250/235/125

Keep saying this mantra... There is no bite of food that tastes as good as weight loss feels! I had a craving night last night. Woofed down 3 SF popcicles! Hang in there. Eventually our heads will catch up with our pouches! Joy

Dear Bethany: I know EXACTLY where you're coming from! Head hunger is probably the way that some gastric bypass patients end up eating their way out of their pouch. I, too, head for the SF/FF popsicles, but I found a better way to deal with it. I go upstairs into the bathroom, and BRUSH MY TEETH, either with or without a shower. It seems to take my mind off food and helps me focus on what i really want, namely, a slimmer, healthier body. Defintely go into another room when your family is eating. My husband eats in the kitchen while I relax with my 4 oz of protein loaded Jello on the sofa. Afterwards, I let him kiss me and try to guess what he just had for dinner. I hope this doesn't gross you out, but it works for me. Another thing you might try is to subscribe to catalogues that offer smaller-sized (i.e. "norrmal") clothing and dream about a new wardrobe. I throw away all my "fat lady" catalogues as soon as they come in the mail (you know, Lane Bryant, etal), and concentrate on shopping for things that I like in the size that I WANT TO BE!!!!! Anyhow, best of luck -- I hope this helps! Rita

Well girl I know what you mean. I am still on liquids. I cant eat anything until next Tuesday and then it is only soft foods. Things I was tired of and I thought I wouldnt want are calling my name. Its tough. But I sip on my protein shake and It does go away. LaDonna -20lbs
