I'm alive and well the day after being banded. I can't believe it. I got home yesterday about 5:00 and had some bad gas pains. My back and chest were really hurting. I took some gas-x and it did help. I am feeling better this morning- just anxious to be back to normal and start daily routines. I was so hungry when I got home yesterday, but I didn't dare have anything but a little broth. I started thinking maybe it didn't work because everyone says how they are not hungry for days afterward. I ate a little yogurt a few minutes ago and I don't want more- but I think it is the fear of the gas pains coming back.

Great to hear you are home already....I am anxious to see the differences between the open and lap RNY and banding in our months to come...so please keep us posted. It sure was a quick procedure and home in one day...that is great. And YOURS is reversible too, should any serious problems arise....I considered it for awhile, but at my age, I decided to go for the biggie.

Sally, Actually, Lelia had lap band, not lap RNY. Lap RNY is exactly the same as open RNY. The only difference is the use of microscopic instruments as opposed to a large incision. Lap ban, however, is a completely different procedure. It will be interesting to see the differences over the months to come.

Whoops. I misready your post Sally. I now see you did mention the banding. I need to get some coffee and wake up before I open my big mouth.

The eating part takes a while to get the hang of. I think Pepe has let me know how much at a time he wants--sure fusses when I do one bite extra! But it takes a bit of trial and error to figure it all out. Glad you are home and doing well! Joy
