I've got a DATE!!!
Best of luck to you Debra. I had Open RNY on March 1st. As for tips. Get plenty of rest pre surgery, go shopping by yourself a pretty nightgown and robe for the hospital, I personally couldn't wait to get out of the air conditioned number they give at the hospital, especially when you start walking the halls. Walk as much as you can. It really does help with the pain. Make sure you have yogurt, carnation instant breakfast, broth, crystal light, tea bags, splenda, and good book for when you get home. And hopefully you have a recliner to sleep in. I still hate my bed, 12 days post op. Im calling my doctor today to see if I can get some sleeping pills, I havent slept more than an hour or 2 straight, since Ive came home. Feel free to email me anytime. I will respond asap. Again my prayers are with you. See you on the losing side soon!

HI Debra!!!!
Welcome to the Marchers!!! Congrats on your date!!!!
As for pre surg advice.. I would say Don't Stress Out and when you do just log on and we'll talk ya thru it!!!
Try to eat sensibly but also treat yourself to a few old favorites here and there.. Get lots of rest
Know that time will fly sometimes and stand still at others
Speak to the nutritionist about what to have on hand for your immediate post op needs.. ALL dr's are different in what they say you can and can't have...
Pack your bag and don't forget your happy face.. then sit back and enjoy the ride!! You've done the hard part and you're nearly a loser now!!!!
Good For You!!!!
