Had lap & open same day...

Has anyone else ever had the lap and open on same day? Doc told me I was perfect candidate for lap, but, endoscope failed and he had to open me up. Had surgery on 2/20/04 and it's been a long road to feeling better. When will the pain subside?

I am so sorry you had to experience the open surgery when you planned on the lap! take it easy, drink all you can , walk king is good... follow the doc's orders and everyday you will feel better! god bless you! ~Mary~

What type of pain are you having? It has been long enough that the incisions should be pretty well healed by now... Joy

My daughter had that happend with gall bladder surgery. They were doing lap and everything was o****il they accidentally cut a bile duct. She is a very busy career girl and had allowed only a day in the hospital and a couple days off, when suddenly she has major surgery, 3 days in the hospital and drains hanging out of her and she was also in the middle of a move across country....it was really awful. But I guess we should all be prepared for complications should they arrive. I am having a "mini open" only about 4 in*****ision...my female surgeon has nice little hands...
