Protein vs. Whey, which is smoother?

I have flovorless protein power and while not bad it's not great either. It's grainy and leaves a chewy kind of feeling between my teeth. Is the whey smoother? It's not like I have a choice for a while yet because I have literally POUNDS of it and have to use it up first. But if one is smoother or better maybe I can get some and alternate between the two. I heard that whey isn't a complete protein, what do you do to make your complete protein levels then? Gayle Queen of Yarn Balls

I have 100% Whey Protein from GNC, (choc. carmel) and it's very smooth, and mixes very easily... I bought the french vanilla also, and it made me gag, I hated the way it smelt and tasted after I mixed it with the water, but in the bag it smells just like yellow cake mix.... (I was really hoping it would taste like it smelt but omg it didn't) Baby Lori My Whitney & VA My angeletts ~~> Whitney & VA (I have the best s ever!)

Throw some of that vanilla stuff in some sugar free tang. It comes out like a dreamcicle (more or less). You might like it that way... Joy

I forgot to add, that it's a 14 oz bag, and has approximately 14 servings, and each serving has 21g of protein... I drink 2 a day and then make up the rest of my protein in other ways... Baby Lori My Whitney & VA My angeletts ~~> Whitney & VA (I have the best s ever!)

I have ISS Whey powder and it is realllll smooooth. don't need a blender or anything...just a spoon. I used up my first jar of vanilla post op and now they just gave me more and I chose Cookies N Cream....lol doesn't sound right but it was one of the choices.

Hi Gayle, I have tried a couple of different ones. The EAS chocolate mixes pretty well and isn't grainy. Also, I got the plain Beneprotein that Kimmer talks about from Walgreens.com. The Beneprotein mixes really well, I think. I have used it in juice and in Carb Countdown chocolate milk so far. My post surgery plan is to put a scoop in everything soft enough to mix it into. I'm sure no expert, but I understand that Whey Isolate is more easily digested and used than Whey Concentrate, and thus typically more expensive. I use both, using the cheaper stuff in things that disguise the taste or texture! Joy

Joy, thanks for the advise; however, since I bought it at GNC they said I could take it back and exchange it, so I'm off to get some more of the choc carmel... (i really like it)... Baby Lori My Whitney & VA My angeletts ~~> Whitney & VA (I have the best s ever!)
