I am having surgery on March 15, and I am so nervous, but excited. It's finally becoming a reality that my life is going to change forever. In a good way! Any suggestions how to calm the pre-surgery jitters? Thanks!

It is very normal to be nervous the week before. Mostly it helps to stay busy. Do the physical things you can to prepare. Plan something fun for this weekend. Walk around a store and imagine what size of clothing you will be wearing at Christmas time (don't buy them--they probably will be too big!) Spend time with people that make you laugh. Try to think of life after surgery more than the surgery itself--believe me, it is just a bump at the start of the road. Mostly, give yourself permission to be nervous if you need to be! The weekend will fly by... Joy
