1 week check-up

Hey guys, I went for my appt today. Everything is good. They took the staples and drain out. Man that drain coming out was the WEIRDEST FEELING in the world. talk about eeeewwww. i have lost 14lbs. Yeah me. i have felt good today compared to the last two days. Just and update. Talk to you soon. LaDonna

Whine! I wish my doctor would take out my drain! He leaves them in 4-6 weeks. The earliest date I could get him to consider was 4/1!!! It is driving me nuts!!! I'm considering removing it myself... just pull, right? Whine!

I have heard absolutely nothing from my docs about a drain.... that's to let all the fat out right? Really hough, what is the function of the drain? Oh yeah and the leak test. Does everybody get to have the fun and joy of those too? Gayle Queen of Yarn Balls

My drain is a G tube. Some drs use them all the time. Some never use them. Some use them some of the time. My dr is the third kind. He uses them on sleep apnea patients because of concern that the cpap machine will morph into a monster and explode our unused stomach. (Sorry--I have a bad attitude on this issue!! Otherwise he is a great doctor!) It is an emergency air escape valve essentially. It has a heavy 6" long tube that hangs out of it that causes friction on the skin at the opening. The itching drives me nuts and it is very awkward under clothing--it sticks out like my bangs do where I have a cowlick! I wouldn't have that big a problem with it if it were not for so long! I will still have it when I make an out of town trip in 3 weeks to visit friends. OK--that was undoubtedly more than anyone wanted to know. Thank you all for letting me rant. In the overall scheme of life it is a very small issue... Joy
