Christian, Please feel free to use us as your adopted family until things are healed with your own family. I think most of us received some negative responses from someone one time or another during this process. I know I did. But I also knew that I had to do what was right for my body. You are young and have MANY years ahead of you, this is the perfect time for you to reflect and take care of you! Many of us did not have that chance at 20, boy wht I would ahve done to have been able to lose weight and keep it off back then, I am 38 now. Your journey to the other side may be smooth, or have a few bumps, and how long it will take who know, but be assured that God is right with you always, squeezing you tight. Christin, Hi, I am Bethany and I am around your age. I am 21. I just had this surgery on the 2nd and at first my family was scared. They were not educated about WLS. My mom was terrified for me as my sister was too. So many people do not have the support they deserve, it just does not seem fair. However, we need to keep our chins up and do what is best for us. This is OUR life. We can not live it according to what anyone says for the exception of God.
