Sweetie, I was so hoping that it was better by now. If you are still in serious pain, you need to be talking to your doctor. If you are frightened by the sudden changes, talk that out with him too. Your profile shows you to be a very positive person with a strong faith system. I know that you will get through this, but there is nothing wrong with asking, even demanding help when you are struggling. I'm still praying for you, Joy

Melissa, I definitely agree with Joy. You had your surgery a day before mine and I am up and around pretty well. I have no gas/bloating pain anymore and just have a sort of bruised feeling on the left side of my stomach. (They told me this is where the old, larger stomach pouch is now so I'm probably feeling the stomach healing in there.) They don't expect you to have to deal with a lot of pain. They really may have to re-admit you. Please call your doctor right away and tell them the pain isn't tolerable! Eve The day I got home from the hospital I could have kicked myself. I felt so sad that I didn't just give it one last shot on my own. I also felt like, "Well, what was so bad about my life before? I got to eat and I really enjoyed that!" But we all know that's a downward spiral to an early death. It's normal to feel depressed after the shock of surgery. A lot of doctors insist that their patients take anti-depressants afterwards. Please talk to your doctor! I hope you feel better very soon!

Thank God I have done well. I was surprised by the fact I was never in that much pain. I am surprised at how normal I feel also. I am Very surprised that i still want food badly and how hard it is to control the want. But the most shock is the feelings of what have I done to myself. I was so positive this was what i needed and that i could handle it all. I am not depressed and this feeling doesnt come often but it does creep up behind me every once in awhile. I am a very strong person and thought I could handle it all. If it was not for this site i may have died by now. Anytime I need support I come here. Thanks to eveyone. LaDonna -14lbs

The biggest surprise for me so far has been the pain. I just had my surgery Friday and came home yesterday so I wasn't expecting anything major or anything but SOME relief would be nice. Also, I get into these coughing fits especially when Im half laying down. (sleeping in a lazy boy) Ohh its some kinda awful. Once I finally fall asleep I start coughing again. I knew I was going to hit this "What have I done to myself" stage and thats ok. I'll be out of it sooner than later. It has been working though. I haven't been hungary or thought about food at all. Matter of fact, food smells really bad to me right now. Jenny

What is the biggest surprise to me? 2 things I believe. I have a lot of head hunger. I know I chose this and no one else. I sometimes wish people would not eat Reeses Peanut Butter cups in front of me and stuff like that but that is not fair to them. They deserve to enjoy themselves. I enjoyed mine and will again ..just in small quantities. The next thing I am surprised about it my energy level. Yesterday I went and exercised for the first time. It was just a short walk but if this walk was before the surgery, I would have been hurting really bad after the first 3 minutes of walking. I walked (not far but further then I thought) about 1/2 (maybe a little less) a mile yesterday then came home and did some arm exercises. I was surprised that I was actually having fun with no pain!!
