my surgery

I didn't sleep the night before (Wednesday) I was so worried something was going to happen and they would tell me to go home without the surgery. I arrived at 5:30am we had to weight until the floor opened to up to the surgical floor. They called me back shortly after 6am, and I stripped down to the MEGA Robe, as the nurse yelled out that I would need the MEGA Robe. I wish I had got her name. The did all the presurgery stuff and I waited, as soon as my parents came back I started crying I was a bit scared. I was one of the last ones to go they led me to meet the anithesiologist (who was a rather nice man, and I am glad now that I had told him that I had heard that he is the best and not to prove me wrong) I started to get weepy again waiting to meet with my doctor, he finally came, asked me if I was scared, I said yes and he said good, you should be we would be worried if you weren't. They brought me into the surgery room and I got up on the table, and started to prep me. Next thing I remember is the recovery room and the incredible uncomfortable feeling I had, as well as sleepiness. I was in the recovering room from 11am-4pm. I also over heard someone give report that they had lost me for about 10 seconds and they thumped me back. This kind of freaked me out. I fell back asleep, and awoke when they let my parents in recovery, and it was the first thing that came out of my mouth. Did they know I had died. I then fell back to sleep. When I woke again they wanted me to breath into the incentive sparomater. THIS IS THE KEY TO RECOVERY at first that and then walking. I got to my room around 4pm. I was on my way. The fever that I had was really expected I was told and over the course of the 3 days came down. I also run kind of high. I did exactly as I was told and progressed like I was supposed to. So I am home feeling pretty good. I am sore, tired, but doing well. Take and I will talk to you all later.

Glad you are home and on your way to better things and better days and great times...congratulations! I remember being in recovery for a different surgery and the silly things you say as you drift in and out.

Whoa, Brad...that doesn't sound like it was the vacation they said it'd be...you know, the one at the fancy all-inclusive resort where they serve ya great food, ya get lotsa exercise, ya meet fine people, and they have signature clothes... Better read the pamphlet more carefully, me thinks... Hey, glad ya pulled thru alright. They'd've been in DEEP doo-doo if they'd've messed with you. They had no idea we were all waiting in the parking lot to storm in and rescue you!! Glad you're back, bud. Keep on doing good...I'll be checkin' on ya when I get home... What it ended up being is that I have a hair tripper vagas nerve, and one of the medications slowed down my heart, they didn't thump me but my heart did stop and restart after 10seconds. It happened again during the surgery when the doctor touched the nerve or close it, again I came back on my own. They monitored my heart and it was strong the rest of the time I was in the Hospital.
