Jessica, You didn't have a lapse in resolve!! You had a drug reaction!!! Call the hospital and make sure you get the name of that drug!! And like Joy said, be sure that from now on you list it as a drug allergy!!! Be sure to tell your surgeon about this, about your fiancee having 3 eyes, and the other feelings you were having...etc!! It's important!! Va 6 Sunrises POST-OP Offishal Paper Monkey and Secretary Extraordinaire My Angels ==> Whitney Lori My Angelettes ==> Whitney H & Lori A

Oh dear! I would have done the same thing if they did that to me. I was nine the last time I had it and I still remember the horrible frightening vertigo. They thought I was a kid throwing a tantrum. My mother reacts the same way and immediately knew what it was. They couldn't cancel an emergency appendectomy--just kept waiting for the drug to "take effect"--it had! In spite of our best attempts to avoid it, she got it again preop before heart surgery. At least I could explain what was happening to her, but it took 3 of us to keep her on the bed at age 80! They gave her something else that knocked her out, but she sure remembered it afterwards! You must call and find out FOR SURE what it was, and call your WLS and tell him what happened. I made them put a red bracelet on me in the hospital that said phenobarbitol allergy. Joy

((((((((Jessica)))))))), You did a very courageous thing in postponing your surgery. It's so important to have complete resolve before taking this step. Whatever you decide for the future, only you can make the decision. As others have mentioned, perhaps it was a drug reaction. If that's the case and you want to give it another try, you have the benefit of knowing you're approved and have a surgeon lined up and all that important stuff. In the meantime, take care. If you need support wer're here for ya. Rob
