Pacing is good. It gets you used to walking a lot. Gets your floor used to it too! There are much worse ways to manage stress! Joy (trying to find the energy to pace again)

I had my surgery on March 2. It's unavoidable to feel some fear, so relax with that. When you do feel fear, see if you can observe what you are thinking and cut the thoughts off at the pass by "listening to" how many of them just widen out, like what if, what if, what if. Take three extremely deep breaths and stay in the moment and know you can handle the moment and that is all you have to handle. The same applies to the hospital stay and any bumps along the way. One of those moments will soon include waking up in the recovery room and being told "your procedure is over." You will be so happy. I guarantee you will handle THAT moment. Meantime, movies, books, tv, grazing for the clothes you will buy in a year -- all of it, the sillier the better. --G
