Recliner????
I had this mentioned to me and I acted on it and I have seen it in some new post from our newly post op friends.
Having a recliner is a necessity after surgery. Please check yours out and make sure it does not take your full body muscles to unrecline it to get out.
I had an old one..and I splurged and got a new rocker recliner. It is great, I have been testing it out. is not the easiest form of sleeping right after surgery. I am sure our post ops can comment on this one.
But if you have not thought about it...please do consider it.
I sleep in my recliner anyway when I have allergy or sinus trouble. I slept there the first night home. Last night I slept in a regular bed in my daughters room and it felt good to get stretched out. Tonight I'm determined to sleep in my water bed. It is 4' high with a wood frame around it. I know I can get in it--if you don't hear from me tomorrow, you will know that I couldn't get out!

Joy,
I couldn't wait to get out of the hospital and into my waterbed!!! Well...I got in...but need a crane and a tow truck to get back out!!
I certainly hope you have better luck than I did!!! Hopefully it will only be a few more days (my hubby hates sleeping alone!). And my neck and back won't take much more of this "regular" bed sleeping.
Va
I splurged too!
I got a Tempur-pedic adjustable bed today.
$3600, But, I'm so worth it... It'll last me 10 years at the very least, so, that's a $1 a day! (er.... night!).
It's going to make coming home from surgery very nice.
Even has a built in massager.

G'morning, Sugarplum!
I got lucky: my Sis's next door neighbor moved into an assisted living apartment and left a 'geriatric' recliner behind, and he gave it to my Sis to give to me. Best part is that one of my closest friends has HER mom in an assisted living apartment, was gonna buy one of these for her mom, but now has one for her when I'm done with it. Talk 'bout getting FULL use out of something, eh?
It's great...has a hand control that makes it go all the way back to a reclining position. BUT -- the hand control also makes it go to a "full stand" - no effort getting up/out of it, it stands you up! This is gonna be GREAT!!! God is so good!
I'm figuring that I can send Queen Mum home to her own bed after the first night I hit my own real bed (which my best friend is coming today to help me turn my mattress...what a peach she is! I'm so blessed!). My bedroom is upstairs, but has 2 'landings' going upstairs, so I figure if it takes me an HOUR to get up there and an HOUR to get down, so be it, I don't have to punch a clock for a while. But I LOVE my bed and my 1st short-term goal will be getting up to it to sleep in it. Once I can do that, I think Queen Mum will be cut loose.
Okey-dokey -- timer just went off. Back later. BTW, I'm feeling minimally better...everyone's prayers are working, of course!
Love 'n misses!
