Hi everyone!! I hope all is well. I thought I would so some updating for a minute. As you all know (THANK YOU, MO) my surgery went great. I was in recovery for about 5 hrs. I ran a temp. the whole time I was in the hospital but obviously not high enough to worry anyone. My nurses were all so wonderful. I was on this mes that is as strong as Morphine..called Dollodid. I don't know if that is exactly how you spell it but it will do lol. They also gave me that in pill form to take home so I am alot. well in the recliner. Each day is getting a little easier. I am having some problems though, I am having BIG problems getting my protien shake in.I am lucky to get in 1 a day and even 1 24 oz water a day. I know it takes time though. I am worried though because I have diareiah after everything I swollow so I am worried about lack of nutrients I know to hear. On the bright side, although the scale says 0, my measurements tell me something else. My stomach is very bloated so I have gained an inch or not lost any in that area. HOWEVER, I have lost 2 inches of each arm and 2.5 off each thigh. I was shocked when I saw that. To confirm it I tried on a shirt that was tight around the arms and yep...they are loose now. Anyways, again, thank you all for your prayers!! God Bless Bethany AKA Da Offishal Riddler 5 Days into NewPouch and feeling great! A riddle a day will keep the Marchers pounds AWAY!

Oh my gosh, that is incredible about the inches...so fast! wonderful to hear, and I hope you start adjusting to the liquids and your you-know-what stops.

Bethany, You've GOT to get in the water, especially if you have diahrreah. (I seem to have the oposite problem). Try milk substitute--maybe the lactose is causing the runs. Joy

Wow Bethany, That is soooooooo GREAT !!!! Keep working on the protein and water. I got my post op instructions when I went for my pre op on Thursday. I keep reading them over and over so I have them in my head, and it's almost overwhelming. I think I am going to make mr mo memorize them so that I don't have to think about it . lol. Talk to you soon. Hugs, Mo doin' the 16.5 days and a wake up happy Mo dance

Wow - that's a lot of inches lost already! Good for you Bethany! Hopefully you can get back on track and not have the big D to deal with much longer. Can you take Immodium or something like that at all? When you start eating again, you could try the BRAT diet to a degree. Bananas, rice apples (applesauce?) and toast. Maybe that would help stop you up. Cheese always does it for me! LOL! Dina
