I have Cooties! HELP!

Yesterday I started coughing a bit... then my throat started to tickle, the it went on into burn mode. My throat this morning feels like I've swallowed the Sahara and followed by some epoxy to make sure all the yuck stuck. I have great green gobs of ick coming from my chest, I know because every time I cough and it come up it feels like a wax strip has been ripped from the inside of my lungs! I have doubled up on vitamin C and will add zinc when Wal-Mart opens. I also started an antibotic (I took two to give it a jump start) anyone think of anything else I can do? Pseudofed will thin the goop so it can all drain. Avoid antihistimines. They make you feel better, but keep the cooties lingering in a compressed format. You have 2 weeks--relax. That is enough time to exterminate. I'll be praying for you. Oh, and don't drip on your yarn or you will reinfect yourself! Joy

You are so funny Joy! How ya feeling ? I have this sinus thingy going on for 2 weeks and i just started to cough up the Gooh gobs! What should i be doing to get it all up, I also go in on March22nd any idea's ladies, Hugz Mary P.s. I also wanted to say I am still smoking, even though I have cut down to 6-8 a day I was so stressed yesterday I smoked a whole pack! I know this has somethin to do with the gooh gobs , it seems the more you smoke the less it comes up, weird ha! anyway have a nice day Marchers, and Take care of your self Joy!

Those gooh gobs need to come up. Get you an expectorant cough syrup to make them come up easier and cut out that smoking!!!! Trust me, coughing is easier now than it will be post op!!!! Joy

Mary, OK back it on up here!!! ready??? SMACK!!!! Quit SMOKING!!! My Doctor wouldn't touch you unless you've been smoke free for 60 days prior to surgery!!! He feels cleared lungs are that important!!! I've never been addicted to cigarette's, I tried smoking in my college days, a couple of times, made me puke both times, decided I didn't want to be cool that bad. I despise anything that makes me puke!!!! Kinda like Jerry Sienfeld that way!!! Wal-Mart has some cough gel capsules (horse pill size) that have guaifenesin in them that will liquify the gunk in your lungs, I think they are called TUSSIN. Take care, lot's of chicken soup, OJ, put a big pot of simmering water on the stove and stand over it as often as you can stand it. The expectorant thins the goo but doesn't stop the cough. It lets you cough and bring the goo up... The reason that the more you smoke the less the goo is because the goo is kinda stuck to your lung surfaces with fresh doses of yummy tar.... I'm not on a soap box, I smoke too!
