Good by and Good Luck--I do not belong here

I am not Christian, I'm Wiccan. I believe in the Goddesses, Gaia - beautiful goddess who carries the earth in her belly, and Bridget, whos candles shine ever bright, and Kali - the destroyer. I believe in the Gods Pan - the playful one, and Thoth - the mathmatical one... and yes, even Yahweh. I admit I was a little turned off at first from all the Christian spam that exists here. But, I'm not here for a theology lesson, I'm here because I want to be around people that are going through the same thing I am - regardless of their faith. I don't have an angel, and I don't want one. But I support people's right to have an angel they feel comfortable with. Perhaps the thing to take away from all this, is to make clear before you accept someone as an angel what you are looking for. Blessed Be. Linda - The Resident Witch.

Can't we all just get along? This is very childish, EVERYONE has the right to feel and believe however he/she wants to!!! Lets all be friends, just put all your differences aside and be friends!!! If one person doesn't want someone to be their angel for religious reasons, she has that right to, just as you have the right to have your own belief system... as they say... "Different strokes for different folks" WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT! That's what makes this place so great... I wouldn't go so far as calling anyone a bigot, but if you want to belive that she is being a bigot, you have the right to believe that, and she has the right to disagree with you... Sally & Nicole, I have to say that I am so saddened by this whole situation. I am a Christian and I am very active in my church. I am seeing both sides. Sally, I think that you should reconsider leaving this site. It was not one person that brought you here and it should not be one person that causes you to leave. I am a Christian, However, I would never pressure you to believe as I do. I would only ask that you bare with me because I can not help but speak about the blessings that have been bestowed on me. You have free will and I can respect that. Nicole, I can wholeheartedly understand wanting to have some one be in prayer for you that is praying to God. Trust me when I say that. I know that a prayer covenant is something that is very important to me. However, I don't agree with the concept that you wanted an angel that had the same beliefs. That in isn't self isn't to say that you are wrong or right, it is only my opinion. Aren't you active in your church? Don't you have people that are in prayer for you? This is not a quesion of religon...Are you religous or do you have a personal relastionship with God? I think you may have miss an oppertunity to show someone else what Jesus has done in your life. I am going to be in prayer that Sally not leave the board and Nicole not feel isolated on the board. I have read this entire log and tried to decide whether or not to post anything. I have a few things to say. As a Christian it is not our place to judge others. God directs us to LOVE one another. As Christians we are directed to welcome others without judgement so that others may see the love of God in our lives. Only in this way can we lead others to Christ. Talking about our beliefs and trying to push others to believe the same way we do are two different things. We can talk about our beliefs without making someone feel that we will only accept them if they accept our higher power, in my case, God. I believe that everyone has the right to believe the way they want to. After all, God gave us ALL free will. He didn't just give free will to Christians, he gave it to us ALL. It is our own PERSONAL choice to believe what we want to believe. Now, having said that this is my message to Sally and Nicole. Sally, I think this should have been kept personal and between the two of you. This is not something I think should have been brought to the board. I also do not agree with the fact that you would let a disagreement with ONE person run you off from this board. There are hundreds of people on this board who care about you and I'm diappointed that you posted this rather than dealing with Nicole on a personal level. However, that IS your right to post whatever you want to post on here. After having said that, I can also understand how your feelings would be hurt and that you would possibly feel rejected by Nicole. I can't say for her how she meant it, that has to be between the two of you. I for one, hope you continue coming because we have a lot to offer here and we want you to be part of the family. Nicole, I agree with you on one point and disagree on another. I think that your Angel, while maybe not a praying person themselves, can come to this board and elicit many prayers for you. She could also request someone to call you if you wanted someone to pray for you and she didn't feel comfortable doing that. The main point of an angel is to communicate your progress with your friends and family (this board) and to post any requests that you may have. However, I do agree that you should have the choice to have an angel with the same belief system as you. However, I feel that you should have been more specific up front about that and communicated better about what you wanted. And I did see that you recognize that. I would also like to point out that some people have two angels. You could have kept Sally as an angel and made a request for a second angel who would be willing to pray for you and/or with you. And, as a Christian, did you stop to think how rejected Sally might feel when you told her this? Sometimes WE need to pray about things before we do them. Sometimes we need to think about if what we are about to do is going to pull someone closer to God or push them away. I am not trying to condemn or judge you because only you know what was in your heart. I only post these points as my personal opinion. I hope that you continue to come to this board also because you too are a part of this wonderful family. We don't all have to have the same belief system. We can have different opinions and still be a family who supports each other. Now, I hope we can all get back to concentrating on what we should really be concentrating right now. Those healing from surgery, having surgery and preparing for surgery. We have an awesome board here. Let's not ruin it over something like this. Everyone has the right to believe the way they want to believe and our job here is to love and support EVERYONE, not just those who believe the same way we do. Enough, already, please! I said I was sorry, I really didn't expect this reaction, but in essence I was also trying to show that this is a mixed group of people with varied beliefs and backgrounds and it had sort of become lopsided.
