They must think I'm crazy at work!!
I haven't told very many people at work, and don't plan to. They will see the results afterwards, and then I'll tell them. Only my boss, and a few close friends at the office know. The rest know I'm going out on medical leave for surgery, and when they ask, I say I don't want to talk about it. But when I do that, I have to turn my head - otherwise they'd see this enormous grin on my face. It hasn't always worked though. Some have seen my excitement. All they know is I'm going for surgery in 12 days, and I'm cheerier than ever. I can't seem to get the smile off my face. It's kind of funny when I think of it. I can only imagine what they are thinking. But then again, I really don't care - I'm out of there for 4 weeks. Only 5 more days in the office.
Can't wait to get to the Losin' side!!!

Marla:
I have been a big mouth. Everyone knows at work. I am just hoping that by the time I get back to work in 6 weeks they will be able to notice a difference.
I cannot keep the excitement away. They wonder..wow she is having a major surgery and she is smiling. I guess it is the opportunity for the new life..new pouch...new everything for us.
Most of my co-workers here know they type of surgery I'm having and why I'm having it. They've seen my fibromyalgia worsen through the past few years, and they're THRILLED I may have a chance of getting it under control thru WLS. Then, when I found out I'm "stroke-bait", they were even MORE thrilled that this problem that I had no idea was going on in my system will be corrected.
Other co-workers (at my original work facilities) simply know that I'm having "corrective surgery". Heck, for a woman my age, that could mean anything, and although concerned, no one has had the cajones to ask what it is. A few whom I've known for 19 years know it's WLS, and as with my co-workers here, are THRILLED for me.
This week has been WORTHLESS for productivity for me at work. I'm breaking down/cleaning out an office where I ran a task force for the past 5 years - I'll be returning to my original facility after surgery. Between cleaning out my office, avoiding my Evil Boss Lady (who's just now realizing I'm actually leaving her...) and trying to TCOB for my surgery, it's been a total loss here for me. But the way I look at it, for all the MEGA EXTRAs I've given to my Corporate Masters JUST in the past 5 years (let's not even go back the full 19 years...), I've EARNED a week of not being 'productive'...
