Hello! I am starting to get nervous, I have 12 days to go. I read the comments posted on the other day, to a question asked, but does anyone have ideas/suggestions on what exactly to bring to the hospital? Good Bless you all!

Stephanie: Go to my surgery page and look for a post by Sharon Neva. She might have posted on your page too. Go to her profile. She has a list of what you need for the hospital and what you need at home when you get home from the hospital. I have been referring others to her site all month. Good luck and God speed on your recovery.

Stephanie, I didnt take alot to the hospital, other than toiletries, jammies, slippers, etc. Honestly I didnt wear my own jammies (due to the IV being in), which they removed just as I was getting ready to leave. I would suggest not worrying too much about what all to take, you want to be comfortable and do whatever you think will accomplish that, I am so thankful I took my own pillow, hospital pillows are horrible!!!!! Allthe things that I thought I would really want, I truly didnt care about, I just had a goal to get better and get home!!! I had my surgery on 3/1 and home 3/3. I am doing extremely well........amazed at how easy things have gone.....hope all goes as smooth for you!!!!!! My prayers are with you, Janelle

From what I've heard you don't need to bring much at all. Probably some slippers. Perhaps a book or crossword book but I've heard that you probably won't feel like reading much at all. Have whomever picks you up bring comfy clothes or jammies to drive home in. Caboose

I'm glad I took my funky red baseball hat for walking. It got me smiles and waves from everyone. I'm glad I took my fleece blanket and pillow. I wore 2 hospital gowns, one open in back, one open in front as a robe, the whole time. I did use my slippers for the walks. All I had time and energy for was walking drinking and napping. Joy

Hello, I just got home yesterday and I didn't use half of what I packed. The things I'd suggest is; some kind of all-in-one facial washcloth (I got the Oil of Olay daily facials and brought along my own soft cloth to dry with), CHAPSTICK (I CAN NOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH- I"M SO GLAD PEOPLE SUGGESTED IT TO ME!!), a back scratcher (even if you will have someone there with you. The leg boots they put on you get itchy and you will be unable to bend down and get them with your hand), 2 pair clean panties, a small pillow to put under your back (my husband suggested this after my back was hurting badly and it helped), a robe - **bring a light weight one** (mine was heavy and caused too much stress on my shoulders and back making my new incisions even more uncomfortable so I didn't wear it), toothbrush and toothpaste (someone said that the hospital would give you these- but mine didn't so I had my husband run out for some), and finally a pillow to press against your tummy for the ride home. Best of luck! ~Kim
