PRAYERS FOR VIRGINIA -- SECOND REQUEST
I'm on it...
Both of my surgeons said that the most common complication of WLS is pneumonia. 1 of every 10 gets it, and they can't quite figure out why.
I've had my bouts with pneumonia in the past, and I personally have my theories of why we'd be prone to it post-op. If you DO start getting infiltrates, they'll put you on antibiotics immediately in case it's a bacterial thing. BUT - I've always had to FORCE MEGA FLUIDS whenever I've had pneumonia...I mean, just hook up the garden hose, ram that thing down your throat and turn on the spiggot. The major fluid-drive breaks up/flushes out the infiltrates in your lungs, thus flushing out the pneumonia. Well, with us only able to intake literal TABLESPOONS of fluid at a time, it's not going to break up like it would if we could guzzle gallons of fluids. It just makes sense that it'd hang on.
Give Va my love when/if you think 'bout it...
