I'm stressing on my toes!
I know this is vain.... goes to the vanity side of the surgery.... anyway I can't really see my toes right now but when I'm laid up in that hospital bed I will have lots of time to contemplate my pedicure. Now I happen to have one of the sweetest Hubbies alive. He will paint my toes for me! I was mentioning the cost of going and having them done, I tossed in the figure on 'the chair' and the plain old pedicure. He didn't know that 'the chair' existed. For those of you who don't know what I'm referring to it's a massage chair where they put your feet in a whirl pool like tub and work on them from there. He said he might want to do 'the chair' too. I don't know how much of that was blowing smoke and how much wasn't but well that might be kinda fun! Anyway, I was thinking of having my feet look purty and can't decide if I want to paint each toe a different color (in keeping with my zany side) or just do them 'normal'.... any one thinking about this or am I alone?

Well I hadn't actually thought about my pedicure, but now that you mention it, I think I'll have to work that in within the next couple of weeks... thanks for the idea... I'm sure my hubby will love you for it! hahahahahaha!

You betcha! As I just had my nails done and the color is "Aphrodite's Pink Nightie!" I was contemplating my toes before surgery...I am going to go for the works and have them done with that massage and get them soft .....maybe I will need a foot rub or something from my honey and want them soft and cute....lol
First, check with your surgeon to see if you CAN have toe and/or nail polish. Mine won't allow it.
BUT...if you CAN have it, I say go with multi-color. Give that surgical crew something to laugh about! A happy crew is a productive crew! I had tendon surgery on my left ankle 3 years (to the day) in a row, and I had it done at the hospital I worked at (not a good idea...I've got stories...). Anyway, I got a 'toe tag' from the morgue and put it on my left big toe, and wrote on it "Fix THIS ankle, pleeze!". They HOWLED when they saw it. It helped that I was engaged to an intern at that time and he was on his orthopaedic rotation...

Oh .. surgery sis !!! .. Definitely go with the pedicure ... I try to keep mine done all year round and have one in the plan for that last Saturday (the 20th) before my date. I always need to have pretty red toesies !!! . I am looking forward to the day when I can reach my own toes to paint them, but I am not so sure that I will give up my regular pampering.
But, I do agree with Kimmer, make sure it's ok to have them painted. That is on my list of questions for the doc tomorrow. I can go without polish on my fingers, but never my toes. LOL.
