What do I do with the Protien Powder?
I have literally gangs of the powder but have no clue how to use it. My DH worked for a company that canned it and he got to bring overruns home. Literally GANGS of the stuff. Now I have no clue what to do with it. Do I just add it to some juice and hope that it doesn't make a return trip? I still have my pre-op tests to do and included in that is a nutrition class so I guess I could find out there but just wanted to ask fellow Marchers. Oh yeah, and when should I start the drinks going down? I had to start taking my iron supplements on the first of the month, should I be swallowing my iron pills with a protien drink????

First thing you do is send TONS of it to ME!!
You need to start using your protein supplements NOW. Don't waste any time - protein aids in your healing process, and you want to build it up now.
What to do with it all depends on what kind it is. Do you know the brand it was? If so, post it: bound to have someone who's used it. If no name is available, s it fruity? Then you may want to try a couple of tablespoons' worth in a small glass of water. Or is it chocolate/vanilla? Try it the same way...in milk (altho I use half milk/half water). No taste at all? Put it in EVERYTHING! Throw it in jello before you add the ho****er, throw it in yogurt and stir it up...
You may want to take in a few samples when you go to the nutritionist. They'll be able to advise you. I'm finding out that my nutritionist is just as important as my surgeon...maybe even MOREso!

He worked at the place that packaged the stuff for Amway. It's in a can and from what he tells me it has absolutely no flavor.... and wahhhhh! I made the jello last night! I don't know what to do with it really. Is there a thread on one of the boards with recipies?

Hey...go to "google" and pull up Amway's website...and see what it says there.
Tasteless is THE BEST to have 'cuz it's so versatile... Don't fret that you made jello last nite: you're going to be making more, and you can do it then. But I'm telling you, I put my Beneprotein (tasteless/odorless) in EVERYTHING, including drinks. Put it in my yogurt, on my food, mix it in my yogurt...and that's just now. I'm gonna be making up jello and pudding cups (I'm allergic to aspartame, so I have to do everything from scratch using Splenda) for post-op, and I'm throwing it into everything I make up.
Try to google Amway...lemme know what you find out...

I just mix mine with skim milk in the morning, and after I have my pills, my vitamins just drink it first thing like a ritual. I love the taste, and it feels good to have some dairy and protein on my empty stomach....I guess after surgery, I will try it in other things...but they say not to use too much fruit juice and you can't have carbonation, so skim milk is the best for me.
Hers isn't a flavored supplement, it's like my Beneprotein - odorless/flavorless. She can add it to anything, just like I do my Beneprotein. It's a great advantage over the flavored supplements/shakes.
My 'flavored' protein shake is GREAT...I've been downing two tumblers-full every day since January, have had one a day since August to maintain my 'rare musculature' (per surgeon's orders). I could LIVE on this stuff (MetRx Protein Plus Vanilla Buttercream). Unfortunately, it's got a thickener in it, so I won't be able to use it 'til I hit my full fluids stage, and will have to settle for lesser amounts. In the meantime, the Beneprotein is so incredible. I'm so thankful my nutritionist made me PROMISE to try it, otherwise I'd've missed out on all this protein.

Yup...just like Jennifer said, at walgreens.com. The hospital I'll be in stocks it, too, but that's because we use it for our diets post-op. I'll bet the hospital kicks the price up, too...one canister of Beneprotein is only $10.99 online, 6 canisters for $5?.?? (fifty-something). Best part is it's delivered to your door and arrives 2 days later.
