WHAT ARE YOU HAVING?????????

I noticed that some people have said something about drinking Gatorade, but in my booklet it says no gatorade. My dr. says I can have stuff with sugar in it as long as it isn't one of the first 3 ingredients. They used an example of a baby food that has 1g of sugar, but it isn't one of the first 3 ingredients. So tell me what is everyone going to eat when they come home. Oh and especially the protein. I hear it is really disgusting too. I am so picky I hope I get lots of suggestions between now and when my surgery is. So please tell me everyone "WHATS FOR DINNER, AND WHERE'S THE BEEF" I am recovering from having my 3 year old granddaughter this weekend. My blood sugars have been a little high, could be all the "I can't have this anymore food that I have been finding myself craving more and more here lately." I am starting to get a sore throat and a slight cough. I hope it goes away quick, because ever since I found out I have TypeII diabetes I take forever to get over EVERYTHING. Had the punemonia shot, got punemonia and ended up in the hospital. Had the flu shot, got the flu. Why was it I had the shots?????? To help me? Yeah right. Renee' PS OMG Kimmer you have a picture up. How come yours looks so good? Are you just pretending you need surgery just to be a MARCHER?? My hair and body are still having bad days. But I will be getting a picture up before long. If I figure out how to do it. I can't post on anyones page so I probably can't put a picture up either. I guess the hair thing might take up too much room. (My hair is so fine and straight) the reason it looks like I'm having a bad hair day is because it is always sticking up all over the place when I get up. Man I better take a wig to the hospital so I don't scare anyone. I better take my fan too (someone said something about that) because I can't sleep without one. I am always burning up. Hmmmm it got worse since I quit taking my hormones. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I guess I better call my dr. and see. OK, I really think I'm going this time. I hope I still qualify for Offishal Assistant Lurker !!! Renee'

Hi. Renee' Guess what- Being over weight means never being cool enough. So when you lose that weight your thermostat will improve. Other than that I just finished having "power surges" as we call them down here in Georgia. I don't miss them. Jewell

On thing you can use for the proetin drink in Carnation instant breakfast. It has 16 grams of proetin and tastes better than those others. just mix it real concentrated in some milk and it will go down OK. The multivitamis is easy too. just get the Centrum chewable or even flinstones chewable. They are east to get down and taste good too.

OMG, Renee'...that picture is my Work I.D. pic, and is eerily similar to my drivers' license pic! (watch the eyes...they seem to follow you everywhere, don't they? ) It's the only pic I have of me in the last few years - I'm always the one TAKING pics! That pic is actually in the files of several federal government offices (I'm a 'fed'). So NICE of my Corporate Masters to let me use it, eh? Ah, yup, I need WLS FER SURE! I've actually unintentionally worked my way UP from a 40.5 BMI when I started this journey (I just didn't 'watch' what I ate anymore, anything was fair game!). I decided to have WLS for different reasons than most - I have fibromyalgia and the pain/fatigue is all but out of control. All my doctors feel that if I can get the weight off, my FMS may just haunt me less. Then I found out from pre-op tests that my cholesterols were off the charts, and that my metabolism will NEVER work correctly - I was "stroke bait" and didn't know it. The malabsorption factor with RNY will correct many things. So believe me, I NEED this surgery! As soon as everyone's through with their surgeries and in recuperation (probably early April-ish), we'll get back to TCOB in Newpouch, nominations and elections included. I'm sure your Offishal Assistant Lurker is in the bag! Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to All Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles Zero-minus-5 and 2 workdays!

Funny Kimmer, I started out at 40.2 and was worried about loosing too much and not getting to have my surgery (no problem now -- I'm up 10 42.9 - hahahahaha) In all my worry, I started trying not to loose weight, never thought I'd actually gain over 10 pounds in just a few weeks. Whitney

I know...almost EXACTLY what happened to me. I didn't try to not lose, nor did I try to gain. I just stopped all my 'normal' low-fat and 'good' conscious food decisions and KA-BOOM! I couldn't BELIEVE when I tipped that scale! This is the biggest I've ever been, and I'm just amazed at how quickly it went on! My surgeon said "just proves you need this surgery...your body STILL thinks it's in starvation mode and is hoarding all those fats, carbs and calories..." Sheeya, right...starvation...what a work of art this body of mine is!! I was just speechless! I'm SURE my BMI has risen within the last few weeks, too...over the past 3 months, I've been treating myself to everything I won't EVER be able to eat again/won't be able to eat for a long time. I had a Quiznos Mesquite Chicken sub with bacon and monterey jack cheese and raspberry chipolte and mega-banana peppers on it...man, was that yummy! I can't even finish a SMALL one at a single sitting, so I have the other part of it for lunch today. But I seldom ate stuff like that, and now I'm glad I didn't! I'd've had to be ROLLED into O.R. if I had! Hehehe... BTW - it's unanimous. ALL the Quiznos personnel HATE my little furry mutant friends. What's WRONG with those people? I asked 'em if they knew if they'd be coming out in promotional stuffed animals, told 'em I HAVE to have 'em, and they just gave me that "...oh-oh...got a psycho here...get her outta here QUICK!..." look. They even gave me 50% off my sammich. They SAID it was a 'farewell for now' for my WLS. I think they just wanted me out of their store fat and happy! GOTTA get those Quiznos hamsters... Kimmer All-Time High of 42 BMI!! Zero-minus-5 and 2 workdays!

Instead of gatorade try Propel, it is a vitamin enhansed water...very similar to crystal lite. But it tastes SOOOO much better. Propel is actually made by the gatorade company...my surgeon actually recommended propel!!! I tried it a few months ago to see if I would like it, and be able to drink it without plugging my nose afterwards....I am now addicted to it!!!! Haha! w/love Annie 13 Days to go

I will have to try the Propel. As for the Carnation Instant Breakfast drink, that might be a problem. My stomach is really bothering me now whenever I eat cereal and that is with 2% milk, and I take Nexium on a daily basis. Tamera, OMG did you come home the very next day? How did you do that? I would be scared to death. So nobody ever told me "Whats for dinner, and Where's the Beef" I'm a little nervous. OMG can you imagine how I will be the day before??????? ing Renee'

My breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 3 straight weeks Will be No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast Made with skim milk. Yummy! Then I'll be on to the pureed/soft foods. My protein will then come from tuna and canned chicken. Even Yummier! In my after surgery food guide it says limit to One gatorade a day and dilute it. For my liquids, it will be SF tang,(thats the best!) SF Kool-aid, SF Country time lemonade, Cyrstal Lite and water. I'm all stocked up! I will also be on Flinstones chewables. Kelley 8 days and a wake up

A friend told me that you can add baking flavorings such as almond, butter , or vanilla flavoring to the carnation breakfast drinks and it makes them taste really great. I haven't tried it yet.
