New date is March 8th...it was postponed because of a bad cough. That would have been dangerous. The time will be 3:30pm. I have to be at the hosp. at 8:30. They will hydrate me before surgery but I'm afraid I will have a very dry mouth. Can anyone post-op make a suggestion about that? Blessings on all the fellow Marchers. Carol Isbister

Hi Carol, I'm sorry to hear that your surgery was postponed but it is for the better. You could have developed pneumonia and you do not want that. As for the dry mouth, I'm not a post op but I have had several surgeries before. You can't drink anything but you can swish water around and SPIT it out. Something else that helps is to take chap stick with you and keep your lips moisturized. I know you cannot suck on anything but like I said you can rinse as long as you don't swallow. Hope this helps! I will keep you in my prayers!!! God Bless!!! Carrie

I just got home yesterday from surgery. They only allowed me to have a wet rag to use over my lips. Propably because I asked them 5 times for something to help with the dryness. This was after surgery. I was at the hospital at 5:30 AM and surgery was at 7:45 AM. PS. You certainly do not want to be coughing after surgery. It will hurt a great deal if you do. I know it is a bummer to have it postponed but it is for the best. Good Luck!

Hi Kathy: Thanks for writing. My cough seems to be lessening and loosening up, thank God. Hopefully it will be gone by this Monday. Hope you are doing well and your surgery goes great when it's time. Carol

Kathy, how are you? Don't know if you remember me but I remember you! Happy 4th anniversary - I'm contacting as many of our Marchers as I can to encourage everyone to post on their anniversary dates - share whatever you want to talk about - successes, failures, triumphs, tragedies - mostly, please tell us how you're doing with maintaining your weight loss. So many of us are struggling and I think all need a good talking to from each other, no matter where we're at in this journey - we're in this together, please, please check in on your anniversary date! Take care, Maureen
