I have a sore throat!!

I went to the doctor yesterday, he said I have an infected throat, white pockets of infection, but it is not streph throat, but he gave me antibotics clear this up, also I am starting to develop an abcess tooth, it is swelling, I am wanting to know, will this interfere with me having surgery on 03/19/04? and if so, how?, I had an chest xray and it is clear. Yes, an infected tooth is serious...but if you are on antibiotics for your throat it should help the infection or abcess in your tooth too...good luck.

Hi Tori! So sorry you are not feeling well. If you were not taking antibiotics both of these could prevent surgery. The throat because they intubate you during surgery so they would not want pockets of infection in there and they don't want you having any kind of infection in general. But you have plenty of time for your antibiotics to work so you should be okay. Just keep on top of it. If you are getting near the end of the antibiotics and you don't feel any better get back in to the Dr. and have him check you again, just to be sure.
