I ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT
THIS IS MY LAST POST, I PROMISE, I KNOW I ALREADY POSTED 2.
I GOT THREE MORE PREOP TESTS OUT OF THE WAY. I HAD THE ECHOCARDIOGRAM OF MY HEART -- THAT WAS SOOOOO COOL TO GET TO SEE THAT THING WORKING INSIDE ME. THEN I HAD THE PULMONARY FUNCTION TESTS WITH ABG!!! CAN YOU SAY OWIE THAT HURT!!!!!!!!! THEN ON TO BLOWING IN THAT BIG MACHINE THAT MEASURES HOW POWERFUL YOUR LUNGS ARE -- MINE NOT TOO GOOD. THAT WORE ME OUT -- HAD TO HAVE A BREATHING TREATMENT AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN TO SHOW THAT I HAVE IMPROVEMENT ON MEDS. I HATE HOW I FEEL AFTER A TREATMENT -- I GET ALL JITTERY AND MY HEART RACES -- MY DAUGHTER HAS HAD BREATHING TREATMENTS EVERYDAY SINCE SHE WAS SIX MONTHS OLD, I DONT KNOW HOW SHE CAN TAKE IT. THEN I TOOK THE RESULTS AND SAW THE PULMONOLOGISTS. HE DIDN'T LIKE THE RESULTS. THE ABGS SHOWED THAT I HAD A SHORTAGE OF OXYGEN IN MY BLOOD. HE IS CONCERNED ABOUT THIS. ALSO, AFTER HAVNG HAD THE BREATHING TREATMENT, I WAS STILL WHEEZING AND COUGHING -- HE DIDN'T LIKE THAT EITHER. HE DID SAY THAT I WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING HAVING THIS SURGERY, I WAS JUST GOING TO HAVE TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL AND WOULD RECEIVE TREATMENTS POSTOP. HE ALSO SAID IF I EVEN GET THE SNIFFLES TO CANCEL, TOO MUCH RISK ON MY LUNGS, I COULD WIND UP ON A VENTILATOR.
PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS (IT'S NOT LIKE YOU GUYS DON'T ALREADY HAVE A FULL TIME JOB IN THE PRAYER DEPARTMENT, SORRY TO REQUEST YOU ADD ONE MORE) I REALLY WANT THIS SURGERY AND I DON'T WANT THIS ASTHMA TO STEP IN MY WAY.
LOVE YOU GUYS
WHITNEY
Whit, Darlin'...
I've already cranked it up a notch for you. Will talk to Queen Mum after work and she'll do the same.
I KNOW that ABG hurts, and believe it or not, EVERYTHING regarding surgery is okey-dokey to me...'cept knowing I'll have that drawn. I'm already doing self-talk telling myself it's not going to be as bad as I think (know) it will. Ouch.
Hey, things are rolling for you! Romans 8:28, gal. Claim it!
Love you!

You know that it's not asking too much to add you to the prayer request list, and I'm sure that no one minds at all... We all need a little extra prayers when we go through stuff like this... and you are no exception... You rock and everything is going to be FINE!!!

Prayers coming your way Whitney!!!
Now, first of all, you are not restricted to how many posts you can make here (silly girl!). You can post as much as you want. That is what we are here for! You also need not asking for prayers. That too, is what we are here for!!! The other thing I wanted to say is about your comment about not knowing how your daughter has done the breathing treatments every day. After you have taken them over a period of time (and not very long) they no longer make you jittery because you get used to them. I have asthma too and when I have a bad bout and have to use my nebulizer for breathing treatments it only takes a few treatments for the jittery thing to quit. If she has had breathing treatments since she was 6 months old she probably never notices a thing and would be surprised at that reaction if she were to stop them for awhile and then have to start back up.
That's all. I'll be praying for you!!! God bless!!!

Thanks Carrie, that's really sweet. You know, after I use my inhaler, I don't feel the same way as I do with the breathing treatment. I wonder why that is. But, everytime I've been given the treatment (I've had a few) I feel that way. One time I went to the emergency room and they gave me four back to back treatments and still wanted to give me another before I went home. I felt awful!!!!!!! My eyes were red, my face was flushed, my heart was pounding, my hands were shaking. I couldn't hardly take it anymore. I started crying cause I put my baby through this every day. I guess you're right tho, it doesn't seem to phase her at all. She just gets up when she's done and goes on with her day. When she's real bad, she has to take them every two hours round the clock - talk about scary. They let me do this at home since she has been taking them for so long. Keeps her out of the hospital (although sometimes I'd rather they just admit her for peace of mind.).
Kisses
Whitney
Hi Whitney!
The reason you feel different after a breathing treatment than you do your inhaler is because the breathing treatment is a higher dose.
And don't worry about your baby. If she gets them every day she is used to them and probably doesn't notice a thing. Like I said, when I get to where I have to take my breathing treatments frequently I get used to them and they don't make me jittery. It is the same for her. Your body gets used to them. I know it's hard not to worry but she probably truly doesn't notice a thing and would be surprised to know that they can do that.
Prayers still coming your way toots!!!

OK, I know I am going to be sorry I asked this cuz I probably don't want to know but what is a ABG? I had a gallbladder ultrasound done the other day, and I now have to have a pipida scan which I already heard ain't no fun. I haven't had my dr. tell me I needed to do anything before surgery, food wise. My pre-op is 3/23. My pipida scan is 3/15. I have not been lurking, You are in my prayers Whitney. I would post on your page but for some reason I can't post on anyones page. So I wish everyone well here or e-mail them.
Renee'
Hi Renee', Looks like your up late or is it early? Okay, ABG Arterial Blood Gas is a test they do to find how much oxygen is in your bloodstream. They draw the blood from the inside of your wrist. Just make sure you drink plenty of water before having one. If you take a water pill don't take it before the ABG is drawn. I can think of all lot of other things I rather do but it's not to bad. To post to someone's page you have to put your name in exactly the way it is on your profile. Maybe you are leaving out the ' at the end. Hope this helps
