Hello! My name is Nicole I am 30 and have 2 wonderful children and I am happily married (most days) to their Dad. I just got my surgery date for March 30th! My sister had her surgery July 21st and has went from size 26 - 14! I am so proud! I hope I do as well! I teach 5th grade and will be going back to work after 6 weeks until school's out! I am VERY excited! I had my consult in July and was DENIED and had to fight to get this approved! Silly me for thinking my weight was cuasing all these problems anyway it took 7 months to get my approval! I am THRILLED!!!!!!! I can't wait to get to know you all and support you thru your surgery! Blessings, ~Nic

Hi Nic, Welcome to the most caring, encouraging, and uplifting board, where everyone cares for each other and lifts each other up in prayer. Congratulations on your date You're lucky, you get off 6 weeks of work, my doctor wrote a note to my employer, giving me 2 weeks I'll be praying for you, Da Judge

Nic: I, too, am a teacher. I planned for 2 weeks off, but told my dept chair that it would be a decision made later as to how much time I will really be out. I am lucky in that my former student teacher (from this past Fall) will be filling in for me, so the kids know just what to expect. Six weeks!! Wow! I AM jealous!! I feel bad about being gone for just the two, but have been told by my chair not to rush back before I am physically able. I will miss my kids, even the ones who have senioritus so badly right now!!

Ni, look what I found - your first ever post to our Board! I've gone way back trying to find my own and I'm contacting as many of our Old Guarde as possible to encourage everyone to post on their anniversary date! I hope you will do likewise - whatever you want to tell us about, your triumphs, tragedies, successes, concerns - how you're enjoying life, what you're worried about, and especially how you're doing with maintaining your weight loss. You know how many of us are really struggling so I think we could all use some straight talk from each other, what do you say? Isn't it incredible that we've been in this together all this time??? Take care, Maureen
