Hx of Bad Luck

Ok well I will start off by saying that my whole life I've had bad luck. For example I would have something really fun planned, and right before it was supposed to happen somehting would go wrong. And I would either not be able to do this fun thing...or I would but I would be alone! Well it has taken me a year to get to this point of my WLS.I don't know why but I am really nervous that my surgery will get canceled or pushed back. For some reason it doesn't seem real...even though it's two weeks and a day away! I think this may be one of the reasons that I am not nervous about the actual surgery. Anyone else feel this way?? w/love Annie 15 Days to go

Annie, I know exactly how you feel. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. We must keep positive thoughts in our heads that this will happen. Just do what ever you can to stay on the path. Do everything you can and hope for the best. That is what I'm doing. WE WILL BE HAVING THIS SURGERY ON THE 15TH AND 16TH. There that should do it RIGHT?? The Offishal Court Jester : aka Betsy

We're on the same day, and I do know how you feel. I'm holding my breath everytime my daughter sneezes right now. I had a baptism to go to yesterday and the father was sick - I steered clear of him and everyone else at the party afterward. I almost feel like walking around with one of those air filter masks for the next 2 weeks. Sending Hugs your way! mgm 15 days to loserville!

Hi-- I am a March 16-er too...it is a good date...nothing will happen. You say that you have had bad luck all your life, but you really haven't if you think about it...I can remember a lot of disappointment too, but then the things that go as planned sort of float out of the memory.....Think about it, you have children? Didn't they happen as planned? Think about all your parties and vacations, didn't some of them happen as planned? You are right to steer clear of sickness, I am also running a humidifier in my bedroom at night to keep the sinuses clear and drinking my protein and eating right....no last pig outs for me...I want to be in great shape--only thing I could do better is exercise get out and walk more...but we have 15 days good luck to all of us! I know exactly how you feel. I am just over 1 week away and wonder if I will really get to see the other side or not. I keep thinking I'm going to get sick or something. For me there is no other timing. It's do or die. I waited 4.5 months for a date, and if I get sick, I can't just up and reschedule like some others can. I already have the tickets purchased, hotel accomodations made, Family Medical Leave arranged....a lot hinges on my being able to have this surgery with no hitches. Yet I have the same feeling that it's not going to happen. I guess I won't believe it until I wake up in pain.... Dina

OK well 1st I need to know if Bananie is your maiden name or if you married it Of course you are afraid of something happening to cancel this surgery because to a person who is over weight this surgery is better than winning the lottery!!!! That's just money but with the surgery you get health and happiness and you get to feel "normal" and all of that.. So it's natural to be scared... However if you keep your eye on the prize and FOCUS on the destination and not the journey you'll get excited.. I promise you'll be beside yourself counting down the last few days!!!!!
