Sis Update
How can I ever thank you all for your prayers and outpouring of concern?
Sis came home last night. Queen Mum and I still don't know what happened exactly, but we've ascertained from the conversations that it WAS due to overeating/eating the wrong stuff. She had (has?) a kink in her bowel, and altho they sent her home this time, if it happens again, they're going to have to go in and operate. Queen Mum observed my oldest neph taking away a bag of pistachios that Sis'd apparently been eating, and when Sis 'objected', he told her "I'm saving you from yourself" or something like that. Him and my oldest niece were there with the doctors, and heard the discussions, instructions, etc. Like I said, Queen Mum and I will probably never be privy to the exacts, but hopefully this will have 'proven' to Sis that she can NOT keep pushing the envelope eating. This surgery is only a tool - we HAVE to do our part.
Anyway, it's been a long and exhausting weekend, and I am so grateful to you all for your prayers and concerns. I love you all so much!

Wow, hopefully things will calm down a bit..and you will have some time to relax before your surgery on the 9th!! It is really wonderful that you have such a caring family. I'm not sure if anyone in my family would have enough guts to stand-up to a family member who has/had issues with overeatting/eatting the wrong foods. Anyways I am glad your sis is doing better, god bless you and your family!!!

15 Days to go
Kimmer, Glad to hear Sis is home. That bowel obstruction thing is really bad. Husband just went thur it in Oct. I never knew you could get that sick from that. Boy, he was sick. This happens sometimes with surgery of any kind and at any time. Just one of those things. In other words her eating habits didn't cause it granted her habits didn't help after it kinked. They must of put a NG tube in hoping it would unkink itself. She was lucky if that doesn't work then they have to do surgery as in my hubby's case. Her kids were right to take the pistachios away they tell you NO NUTS or anything that is hard to digest. This may never happen to her again or it could happen tommorrow, there is just no way of telling.
Now go that a long or a and go to or .
So excited today for all the canarys. It will be great to start hearing everyone is fine.......Just praying and waiting for that to happen....

Well, the son *****moved the pistachios isn't a very meek person: he's 6'4", is a USMC Corporal, a Combat Engineer, who's anxiously waiting for his 2nd deployment back to Iraq (sis's husband is already there). I'm sure the reason he removed the nuts was more for HIS peace and quiet than hers....he'd been up all night in E.R. with her, and was pretty tired, and when he gets that tired he gets pretty cranky. Hehehe....gotta love that kid. He pulls no punches, this is simply the way it is. Period.
I just feel that I've neglected my Canaries. Gotta make some SERIOUS tracks today hitting their pages. I've been praying for 'em since I woke up. Pretty neat feeling knowing our Marchers have begun, ya know...I'm so excited for everyone...

Oh, Judgetress...
I'm gonna do just that. I actually fell asleep sitting up ON my bed last nite...don't remember sitting down on the bed or closing my eyes, just remember waking up at 11:56 'cuz my neck hurt...I was slouched over sitting in the bed. What a hoot!
Yes, He IS good. Sis is alright for now, and now I can get on with getting on with MY surgery.
Cheez...these past few weeks surely aren't the way I'd envisioned my last few weeks pre-op! I'm almost out of time!! YIPPEE!
Love you, my friend....

Ya know, Dina, I really couldn't tell ya the underlying reason this happened. My best friend called me yesterday morning, and BAD girl that she is, she said "She's just NOT gonna let you have your surgery without a fight, is she?" Nah, I don't know what happened, but ya just gotta LOVE my bestest bud for her candor. I do realize my sis has a lot of difficulty with food, but I just can't imagine eating all day long even with a NORMAL stomach. I have no explanation for it, Dina, 'cuz she won't discuss it.
I feel bad for my nieces/nephs. They shouldn't have to do what they do. Mom and I were 'there' for Sis, but Sis would have no part of it 'cuz she refuses to discuss anything WLS-related with us, thus my new-mommy niece and 23 yr old neph stayed with her in the hospital, Mom and I were banished. That's just shooting yourself in the foot, a toe at a time IMHO. I'd've just gone there anyway if I didn't know her as well as I do - she'd've made a scene, and it would've made her WORSE. So Mom and I just had to sit (pace) and wait and pray...away from her. Just silly. But I respected her demand.
But it's over - at least for now. Time to get on with the REST of my preparations. FORTUNATELY, being up all nite, pacing and worrying, I had a megaton of nuclear enegy in me, so I got a TON done for pre-op: got my refrigerator stocked with juices, etc, got my supplies out for easy access for my mom, got some stuff cleaned up, fixed my picket gate, built a garage, cored, rebuilt and redecorated my home...etc. So I got a nervous-energy cleaning spree done! Couldn't have happened at a better time!
