Anyone in Michigan (detroit area) March 11th????

WOW! like 11 more days!!!!!!!!!!! I think Im pretty prepared...I've been trying to get approval for a year now~and finally it's here!!!!!!!! It took my employeer getting a new insurance provider~WHOA!!! I'm already packed and ready for the hospital! OHHH ANYONE found any GOOD protein shakes w/under 9 gms of sugar? GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!

Hi Alicia- Well I am in the Chicagoland area, at least we share the same great Lake! I also have a BMI close to yours, so understand your particular situation very well...I also have a shake that my surgeon's office supplies that is great...ISS Whey Powder, and it has only 1.5 g of sugar per scoop. 1 scoop is all that is needed for 8 ozs. You can buy it from their website and they have alot of other flavors....it is designed for Athletes, but my surgeon has a Bariatric Wellness Clinic and this is what they use. www.issresearch.com. Thats too cool!! I've heard many great things about your doctor.... I actually wanted to switch doctors but I would have to do allll my presurgical testing and all that over again and I'd rather not~ besides that I have no doubts w/my Dr. just the staff in detroit is a lil ghetto! Which RNY Lap or Open? Not tooo much longer for either of us....good luck w/everything I'm sure you'll be fine!

Hi, Alicia - I live in Waterford, but am having my RNY done at St. Joe's Macomb on March 9th...wow...you live so close to a hospital that does WLS, but you're going all the way to Detroit!! Who's your surgeon? There's gobs of good proteins shakes out there, most with NO sugar. It just depends on your tastes. You can also use a tasteless/odorless protein supplement (like Beneprotein) and ADD it to stuff...I'm using it and adding it to EVERYTHING. I'm getting ALL my protein in, but don't even know it. Yeah I actually only went to this surgeon because my co-worker was going to them and we've kind of done everything together....I did go speak w/CORI centers in Warren but they only do open and I def. want Lap. My Dr. is Dr. Webber~great guy and very strait forward w/you. And all my appointments were quick rather then waiting monthes in between everyhting and I figured rather then going through all the paper work and running around to trans surgeons I would just drive the extra 15 miles! ;o) Thanks for the tip on the Beneprotein~ I just cannot stand most protein shakes!
