Marchers...Need HELP!

Hey yall I need some serious help here. I got a phone call from my surgeons office yesterday with some bad news. My thyroid levels are low and they might have to cancel my surgery next Friday. The surgeons office called back again today and said they called my PCP to talk about medications that I should be on. She then went on to say that it was all up to my PCP as to weather or not the surgery would go on as planned. So, what I need from yall is your prayers. Whom ever you pray to will work just as long as you're prayin! I have waited 3 long years for this and I can't let this happen to me a week before surgery. Thanks yall! Jenny P

I hope it goes well for you, but I do know that Insurance will not approve WLS surgery for anyone with thyroid problems because curing the thyroid problem may be all that is needed. So, think of it that way, maybe once you get your dysfunctional thyroid working, you won't NEED WLS!

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having trouble! It is doubly hard when it is this late in the game! Do you know if you have been tested for T4 before now? If so and it was normal, you may be able to show that even when it is normal the WLS surgery is needed and get them to treat the thyroid AND do the surgery. I will pray that it works out in whatever way is best for you in the long run. Joy

Wow girl..my thoughts and prayers are with you. That was one of the things they asked for in my original paper work was Thyroid numbers.
