Calm before the storm ???
Hi JC,
My surgery is also on Monday. Holy crap! I am nervous some of the time but I have also been eerily calm. I am more excited than anything. I feel as though my surgeon has prepared me and I have prepared myself so nothing will be a surprise. I am also not fooling myself and I do realize that there will be pain and changes. As much as we tell ourselves we are prepared I don't think we can every prepare ourselves for what if will feel like exactly.
So anyway, all that said, I think it's okay to be calm. I think it will be hitting closer to home over the weekend when I do my bowel prep and will be pooping my brains out Sorry, hope no one takes offense to the poop word After that it all done with then Monday will be the start of my new life. I can't wait.
Hang in there and take care,
Jill
Most of the time, I am calm too, at least on the outside. I do have a lot of nervous energy though. I mostly am ready to get going!!! Waiting is tough!
Everyone reacts to stress differently. It is just our natures in action. Most of us will probably look back at this period with some amusement because the things we are most anxious about undoubtedly won't be the things that turn out to be the most challenge!
