How long is the Surgery???
I'm havin' a Lap RNY done, 'n my surgeon said anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours, unless he "has" to go Open RNY.
Are you going thru CORI? Theirs is a little different I think. But I'd say 2-3 hours is right in the ball park.

That sounds about right ..However warn your family they may not be seeing your for many hours ... BECAUSE sometimes other surgeries take longer (like whoever is in the suite before you) or your surgeon could be delayed etc... So when you go back to pre-surg holding is when the family begins to worry and you may be sitting back there for quite a while getting prepped and waiting...
Then when you get to recovery most places will let them see you when you're awake.. So I am just saying to warn them not to panic if they don't see ya right away.. Very nerve wracking for the families.. You're just snoozing and have no clue
My doc told me the surgery would be between 1 and 3 hours and then the recovery depends on how I do afterwards. I have had surgery before and done really well, all I knew was that afterwards I wanted to be in my own room. I had an old man next to me moaning "Oh God it hurts, please God let me die let me die" and I was like OOOOOKKKKKK it's time to go to my room now!!!
