goodmorning
Hi all my fellow march friends I am so excited but yet so scared wow what a true range of emotions you go through first all the waiting for appts. and date and then when it comes reality really set in at least for me. Well anyway I have been given the list of pre-op tests that I need to complete and one of them is a H Pylori test anyone have any idea what the heck this is?
Joan,
Welcome to the Marchers. Don't know what that H Pylori is, but whatever it is, you'll get through it just fine.
Yup, we know about all those emotions, that's why we try to be here for eachother and lighten everyones load if we can with a few laughs.
Love, Peace, and Prayers to you and yours.
Betty
G'morning, Joan!
Man, I feel like I went on a drinking binge last nite...I've got Marcher Madness Hangover or sumpin'...
I dunno what the H Pylori is, but I know there's others who've had it. Might even want to go to the main board or a state board and post a question on it. But in the meantime, go to the top of this webpage to the 2 rows of links at the top, and click on the "library" link...then do a search on it. You'll DEFINITELY find it in there. That's one of the best sources for info on this board.
Hang in there....we're all waking up 'n will be back on track shortly.

Good Morning, Joan-I'm a late riser.
H. pylori is the name of the microscopic beast that causes stomach ulcers. For years and years doctors made people go on bland diets, etc., to cure their ulcers. Recently science discovered that they can be cured by antibiotics.
Your test will reveal if your stomach hosts this potentially destructive critter. I had an upper GI and the doctor took a bite out of my stomach lining to see if I had it. I think there are easier tests.
Google H. pylori for better information.

Joan,
I've had an H Pylori test and if I remember correctly, it was just a blood sample. They ofetn test people with GERD to rule out H Pylori.
Here's a link that explains testing
