You guys are fun...

Mo Fiend... I was TOTALLY expecting SOME kind of pre-op roto-rooting the day before. It was my anesthesiologist that wants me on the clear fluids the day before. I was STILL waiting for that nasty stuff...nope. Just goes to show how TOTALLY much each surgeon varies. I feel VERY blessed that I don't have to do it, and my surgeon is a general surgeon, not just a WLS surgeon, has been in practice for ~20 years, so he obviously knows what he's doing. I guess I still think my pre-op is WAY too easy by comparison, so I just pray harder for everyone else (thank GOODNESS for Va's list!). Kimmer No Fleet Here Zero-minus-18 and counting!

I've heard you need to shrink your liver so it'll give the Dr. more room to do the surgery. If it's enlarged and fatty, it gets in the way of stuff.

My dr said if your liver is big, it isn't going to shrink enough to matter in a few days. But then I am having open RNY. I think it might matter more in LAP. Anyway, like Kimmer, I get off with one day of clear liquids! Lucky me! Joy (3/1)

Nothing was said about my liver other than, we do not want to knick it in surgery so we only take out what organs need taken out. If my gall bladder is bad it will come out too. I only have 13 work days left before surgery. I keep reminding them at work.
