You guys are fun...

I now get up every morning and read everyones messages. You guys are silly... I love it I am gettin close!! Today is Friday and my post op is Tuesday and then my surgery is the following Monday . I measured at Curves and I lost another 5lbs, thats good because I have to shrink my liver before surgery.I never hear anyone else ever talk about that. Anyway, I am getting excited, I emptied my cafeteria plan yesterday for my down payment, (They said since its elective, you have to pay your portion up front) I am glad I have it Well, I guess I will go get ready for work Julie ( 10 days & counting !!)

G'morning Julie! I've heard a lot of people saying their surgeon wants 'em to lose weight 'cuz of the fat/liver thing. You're not alone. I'm so-o-o lucky I wasn't given any instructions like that. I'd've probably told him something like "Well, can't you liposuction it while you're IN there?" or something else of great medical knowledge... Hey, I'm paying him to take care of my fat! There's no exclusion for fat livers that I remember signing! Yup, we're silly here. Darned near certifiable on some days. Wait 'til you get our bill! Have fun at work! I just LOVE my job!! SO you admit it!!!! You're not even overweight you'll just do ANYTHING for a day off!!!! You read about WLS and thought "Well there's an easy 6 weeks on the couch" I knew it all along... nice try chickie poooooooo Just kidding you nut.... The fatty liver thing seems to be a big deal.. A girl on another board only lost 9lbs in her like 3 mos pre-op diet and her dr said it was so great because it shrank her liver...

Oh, heck. SHHHHHHH!!! Just keep it to yourself, wouldja? I just HAFTA get out of this place for a while, and I'd do ANYTHING, up to and including getting gutted unnecessarily, for a break from My Corporate Masters... Gosh, I'm jelous of you guys -- you get a break from your jobs. I am a Household Technician and never get a day off. The day I get home, I'll be giving instructions from my recliner (which is way too close to the kitchen) "Honey, how do you boil water" "Honey, where is the milk" "Honey, is the laundry supposed to come out pink" "Honey, what's that smell?" "Honey, what's for dinner?" "It's OK Honey, don't get up, I guess I'll just have to order take out" and then "Mommy,..........." How long do you think I can get the insurance company to let me stay in the hospital???? Ya think I do too much for 'em??? Whitney

I was diagnosed with a 'fatty' liver a few years ago. After every blood test for liver diseases known to mankind (I think), the gastro doctor said he could do a biopsy, but didn't think that would show anything that the blood work hadn't. So my liver and I are axiously awaiting this surgery, so that maybe it won't be quite so fat!!!! Seriously, tho, I have battled issues with my liver functions from the days when I was merely over weight as opposed to morbidly obese. I know that WLS is going to help, but the rest will be up to me where my liver is concerned. I will always be conscious of the effect of medications/weight/etc on my liver. Yo, Mo Fiend! Yeah, my Mom had nephritis, inflammation of her kidneys, when she was a teen, so she's really "aware" of them in the same way. She's got a bladder about the size of a WALNUT...is in the potty about every 10 minutes, and that's when she's dehydrated!! Nah, I'd've STILL told my surgeon to lipoSUCK my liver 'cuz I wuzn't gonna do that "get yer liver skinny" boogie. (Tough talk from the gal who just found out she's gotta be clear fluids the day before surgery and said "NOT a problem" in response...and means it! ) Kimmer My Liver Didn't Diet Zero-minus-18 and counting!

Kimmer sweetie ... Lucky you if it is just clear liquids the day before. I heard some dastardly rumor about 2 days of Fleet Phosphasoda stuff prior to surgery. THAT stuff is nasty ... nasty ..... NASTY .. oh . did I mention it was nasty? .. have had to do that routine twice when I had colonoscopy's .. *bleah* .. oh well, I am just thinking of being a true loser .. and that makes it all worth it.
