Heart Catherization

Hey Fellow Marchers Well the day after my EKG I ended up in the local hospital ER, had many tests and another EKG. The doctor told me two things he was sure of 1. I was not at the present time having a heart attack 2. He could tell by the tests that I indeed had a heart attack sometime between 1999 when I had my last EKG and now. I about wigged out. Today 2/19, I had my Cardiologist appoinment, that doctor told me the EKG reading was not inclusive of having a heart attack, so back to square one. One M.D. tells me one thing he knows for sure is that I've had a heart attack, the other M.D. tells me he can not be sure of that. However, the Cardiologist wants to do a heart catherization, which will take place one week from today, 2/26. In the mean time this dr. has me on an aspirin a day, toprol, and nitroglyarine on standby. Love, Peace and Prayers to all my fellow Marchers Betty

Hang in there Betty. The cardiac cath will show without question what condition your heart is in. You need to know this, as does your doctor. You'll get through this... Joy

Betty, It's all going to be OK. I know this is frustrating not knowing for sure what is going on. I'll be praying for you. Whitney

Betty -- I've had 4 EKGs in the past month and they all say something different. The last one said I have an enlarged left atrium with a possible AT Depression (whatever THAT is...). One I had back about 2 years ago ended me up having a complete cardiac workup, only to find that I was (allegedly) fine and a re-interpretation of the EKG made them suspect I had a bad EKG lead. The morale of the story: who knows what these things say. But the cardiologist will know in a heartbeat (pun intended) if he catherizes you. Don't sweat it...just hang in there, get the cath done, and let us know how you fared. We care...we really do! Kimmer Working on creating a new EKG standard Zero-minus-18 and counting!
