Thanks folks, I feel like I just had a big group hug!! Thanks, so much for the heartfelt words. I'll just have my husband call the school and my son's cell when I'm out of surgery and into a room and let him know I'm OK. {{{{hugs}}}}} Va 13 sunrises until my new life begins

Great picture, Va! Can I use yours?? You are much prettier than me. (I haven't shaken the camera avoidance thing yet). Joy "Canary"

Virginia, Two years ago, my son's father died very unexpectedly at the age of 39. I drove to the high school and pulled Danny out of class to tell him. I had hoped to get him home before breaking the news, but he knew instantly from the look on my face. And what did the kid choose to do? He hugged me, told me he loved me and turned around and went back to class. At the time I was floored. Especially since he was sooooo close to his father. Later I realized that going back to school was Danny's way of having some sort of control over what was happening in his life at that moment. School was familiar, safe and predictable. My vote is to let your son go to school. Connie
