Hi Guys, Well I had my pre-op today, they told me at my pre-pre-op that I had to lose 15-20 lbs by my pre-op visit or they would not do surgery, well I made it!! Everything with them went really fine Then I went for my EKG, well things didn't go so fine there, they told me since my last EKG in 1999 there was significant difference, I'm like so what does that mean, she said she suspects I may have had a heart attack, I'm like WHAT. She said she was going to take it to her supervisor and see what he has to say and if they need further tests they would call, well by the time I got home I had a message on my answering machine, telling me I have an appointment with a cardioligist on Thursday morning at 10am! So I need prayers please! Also anyone want to be an angel for someone in Wisconsin, I'm in need of one!! Love, Peace and Prayers. Betty

Oh, Betty! I sure hope that it turns out to be nothing really serious. I can't help but believe that WLS will help whatever is wrong with your heart! And I am so impressed at your weight loss! That has to help too! I'm glad that they did not keep you waiting long for the Cardio appt. Try not to worry tomorrow. This will all work out. I'm praying for you tonight... Joy (3/1)

Betty- Medical people will worry you to death. I was told same thing, but I've never had any heart trouble. Doctor finally admitted that the test is so sensitive that it sometimes picks up false positives. I even had my surgery date cancelled because I had a shadow on my lung. After 2 x-rays, a CT Scan and a PET Scan (which was put off two weeks so I could be newly diagnosed as a diabetic) I was finally cleared, but they had me nuts that I had lung cancer-I've never smoked. Just keep pushing forward, they can't afford to make any mistakes because their doctor's insurance will go up.

Hi Betty! You are officially on my prayer list! I wouldn't worry too much though until you see the cardiologist. A lot of times, because of the weight, we get interference with the EKG readings and it can often show something that is not really there. So try to keep calm and hang in there until you see the pro. In the meantime we will be praying for you. God bless!!! CCQC

Betty, I'm praying that everything will go well for you. Please keep us posted. I'd be glad to be your angel, if you still need one. I'm an experienced angel with 3 angelettes having done very well and getting skinnier by the minute. Connie

I just want to say thank you in a very big way to all of you for the support you have shown me, it really means the world to me. And Connie, special thanks and prayers are coming your way for being my angel, I don't know quite how that works yet, but I'll get it figured out. An update on my pre-op, I called my surgeons PA this morning. He said this may affect my scheduled date, but he hasn't cancelled my date yet! I asked if someone could please tell me something, and he said no one can until after the cardioligist visit tomorrow, so I said, it could really be anything then like a misplacement of wires on the EKG machine, he said yes it could but it could also be an infarct (sp). So, I know that is what everyone is suspecting. Betty

Yo, Betty! I've had so many EKGs within the past year I could hurl. Half of them were "re-do"s 'cuz one of the leads was bad or some such silliness. The last one I had was a week ago, and it said I have an enlarged left atrium and a possible AT Depression (whatever that is). Strangest part is that the reason I had it done was 'cuz they didn't have the results there (at my anesthesiologist's consult) from when my Internist did one only a month before...which came out totally normal. I'm thinking "why the vast difference in only one month's time?!?". Anesthesiologist said not to sweat it. Okey-dokey, I won't. He totally cleared me for general anesthesia (altho with the option of inserting an arterial line, which is like a probe threaded into my wrist artery, if they can't get a good "read" of my vital signs from their normal equipment during surgery. Never had a problem that way before, don't think it'll happen now...don't WANT no steenkin' arterial line...dem thingz HURT!). He wouldn't have cleared me had he thought there was a problem. ANYway, what I'm getting at is to wait 'til you see the cardiologist. See what (s)he says. Don't read too much in to it 'til the cardiologist gives their opinion, 'kay? And in the meantime, we'll kick up the prayer a notch for ya... Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to all Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles Zero-minus-20 and counting!
