Bring a PILLOW to hospital with you...
...or at least have it for the ride home.
I keep trying to remember all the little tips I've been given, and in thinkin' 'bout laying my head down on my pillow VERY soon now, I remembered something else we need , 'n I said to myself "Self, tell them they need a pillow for the ride home."
Whether you're going to be having your WLS done open or by Lap, whether you'll be leaving on a jet plane or you'll be 'motoring' it outta there, you'll be happy to have a PILLOW to act as a cushion between the seat belt/shoulder harness and your aching gut on the ride home from the hospital.
Just another little gem to share with you all.
This girl is headed off to bed. Gotta lay this bod down 'n TRY to get in to work tomorrow. ( I made a funny...try to go to work tomorrow ...sheeya, DOUBT IT. ).

Hey Mo,
Did the Dr warn ya whoever is driving you home will have to make frequent stops so you can get out and move dem dancing feet???
You don't want to be sitting still for that long!!!!
Kathy Angel to Kimmer...
Mr Mo is driving me and I am like a baby in the car (or truck). Soon as it starts moving, I am sound asleep. I just am not sure what he is gonna do when I don't snore any more. I always say that I snore so he won't fall asleep when he's driving !!!! If I am awake, my mouth is going a mile a minute, so I really think he prefers the sleeping Mo. LOL
Hugs,
Mo ( and the feet )
Hello everyone a fellow Marcher here, with a lil advise, I have had 3 abdominal surgeries IN 1 YR, so I wanted to share a lil bit with all of you who maybe have never had any kind of surgery before!
Before you get your happy shot and go under to "happy land" make sure you let the e.r. nurse know you wish to have a rolled up blanket under your lower back, this will help you overcome any stress on your lower back, or sciatica pain as you wake up from the anesthesia, keep moving your legs as much as you can in bed , and when you wake up and go to your own room make them take the catheter out a.s.a.p.! get up and walk, as much as you can, the longer you lay in bed the worse the pain will be in your back side and I know from experience! If you feel you can't do it on your own ask a nurse to walk beside you, or ask for a wheelchair and pu**** infront of you to help you keep your balance!
just thought i would share! God bless the Marchers! mary
that is such a good idea about the pillows. I sleep with a body pillow and I have a very hard time sleeping without it. I have a 6 hour ride home frome the hospital when I am discharged. I may just spend the night though and leave the next day. But I will definately be bringing my body pillow, and my sons Game boy advance LOL!!!
