Hey...I missed youse guyses!! Mom spent the weekend and we pretty much watched movies and ate - I made a roaster full of Stuffed Cabbage, and we knocked off about half of it. We kept blaming the...um...ah..."odiferous"...yeah, odiferous air on my Plott Hound, Lambie Pie, who's The Queen Of Farts (I've NEVER had a dog with such gaseous emissions!! P-U!!!). I sent the rest of the stuffed cabbage home with Mom, and I've now knocked off one MORE craving I've had. We only went out once - she wasn't feeling all too hot, but she WANTED to order my treadmill. So we shuffled (literally, in her case...poor little thing...) off and found a really nice, basic treadmill (Joyful C -- I saw those gazelles...I didn't think that'd work for me with the full-body thing going, but I now know what you're talking 'bout...). Anyhoo, Mom INSISTED on paying for the treadmill "...so when you don't get anything for Christmas, just step on the treadmill and remind yourself that you got your Christmas present in February...". She's intent that she wants to give me things NOW 'cuz with her health, she doesn't know if she'll "be here", and wants to give it now. I can't WIN an argument with that woman, so alas, Mom bought my treadmill...thank GOODNESS it was on sale!! Anyhoo, that's all we ventured out this weekend...just kinda hung around and stayed in our jammies and watched TV and stuff. I love having her over... Cheez...I feel like I've been gone for months!! Got stuff to tell!! Had my anesthesiologist consult Friday afternoon - everything went fine 'cept I found out SOME MORE news: it appears that my left atrium (heart) is enlarged and that I have a possible AT depression (whatever THAT means )...this was detected via the EXTENSIVE EKG they gave me there. Dr. said "no biggie, don't worry 'bout it...". Ah, my heart is enlarged...I'm GONNA be a bit concerned. He said it may just be a temporary thing 'cuz none of the other EKGs picked it up: made sense, I guess. Anyway, Dr. 'SNOW' (for lack of being able to pronounce his name...) is GORGEOUS......I've NEVER had such a crew of hotties, and wouldn't you figure, it's for WLS, where I'm gonna be splayed out like a beached whale on the table! Anyway, I'm all set, but he said if they can't get a good BP on me during surgery (never been a problem before) they may put in an arterial line in my wrist...a sort of probe that will be inserted up my artery to monitor my vitals. OUCH!!! It's the only thing so far I really would prefer NOT to have, but if they need it, I (of course) said "go for it". Anyhoo, I THINK I have all my consults out of the way now...I've got all my supplies, treadmill is coming next Monday, and now it's just a matter passing the days! WOO-HOO!! I'm playing hookie today. I've been fighting off a flare-up since last week, and it hit yesterday (REAL fun trying to "hide" it from Mom, but she didn't notice, I don't think...). Not surprising...having to watch Mom almost every minute and make sure she doesn't trip or start choking gets pretty intense. But it's worth it...I KNOW I'm gonna look back on these sleep-overs on down the line and remember every minute of them. I wish everyone had a Mom like her...this world would be a better place! Anyhoo, I'm gonna hit the board for a while: haven't even LOOKED at the posts, just logged on and got to writing youse guyses...I missed you!!! So I'd better get to harassing everyone and seeing if Kelley's O.D.ed on tea, how many more canaries we have, and make sure Mo's dancin' feet are still doing the two-step! It's good to be home!! Welcome back, Kimmer! Sounds like you had a lovely weekend! I sure miss my mom (passed away 2/9/96) and wish I had her here for love and support. Hubby and I had a VERRRRRRY ROMANTIC weekend, and are counting the days (13 days and counting****il surgery. Still working on losing weight before surgery (makes it easier for docs during surgery, and for me afterwards), and doing the Kashi Cereal routine, with much success. Cereal for breakfast, Kashi shake for lunch (vanilla flavor, but I add tspn vanilla essence), then lo-cal dinner. Have lost about 9 lbs so far, hope to make it to 15 by 3/1. Will go walking this afternoon. Stay well and keep on sending your words of wisdom! Rita

Hi, Rita! I relish every moment with my Mom. My Dad passed away in June of '88, and there's not a day that goes by that I miss him desperately. Him and Mom were 'joined at the hip', and she's been dying of a broken heart ever since. It's just pitiful to watch. I'm so glad that I can get her out of my sis's place and bring her here. She usually goes back rejuvenated...TIRED, but rejuvenated! Sounds like you're doing great with the pre-op slim-down. March 1st is gonna be here so quickly...I'm freaking out at my March 9th date! It's creeping up on us...!!! (hurryuphurryuphurryup!!!) Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to all Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles Zero-minus-21 and counting!

I've been reading the other boardies who were lamenting your absence so I had to hurry in to see what you were all about. I'm Dina, by the way, and I just finished reading your profile. You *are* quite the crackup, ain't ya? LOL - nice to meet you. I'm getting split open a day after you in Mexico. I was noting your references to Romans and it was funny because earlier today I was just re-reading my own profile, and it was like it just struck me. Right after I leave a one-liner leaving it in God's hands, I was delivered the answer right in my lap. Funny how He works in those mysterious ways, huh? Anyway, nice to meet ya and welcome back! Dina

Well, EVER so pleased to meet ya, Dina!! Cheez. Don't listen to all those other hooligans on this board. They're all twisted. (But that's why I love 'em! ) Yup, under all this silliness, I'm a Christian. Hey, God made Zebras and Giraffes silly-looking, so I'm sure He knew what He was doing when He gave me an extra dose of humor! Romans 8:28 has been 'my' verse since I was very young, and it's always proven true. I dunno what I'd do if I didn't have Him to keep me 'straight'. OMG, it's scary to THINK about!! So, since you're gettin' re-plumbed in Mexico, you're the new 'mule' to bring us our tequila and kahlua. "Mama July" was our initial mule, but I think the thought of hauling all dem bottlez back spooked her and she got a different date outside of The Marchers. Not a problem... Glad to have ya here with us. We'll be hanging out and getting thru this together , not to mention we'll be slappin' some happy into anyone that needs it! Kimmers - Tequila literally scares me, yet still were I able to hand deliver a bottle to each and every one of you, I would. (Hey - it's a nice gesture....don't pick it apart trying to figure out if it's sincere or not cuz I ain't flying all over in my Pizza Hut Delivery plane!) Oddly enough, Dr. Gomez who is the anesthesiologist for Dr. Aguirre calls the little happy ****tail he has you drink before surgery to get you lubed up "tequila." It took me awhile to make sure that it was a joke as everyone refers to it. Holy cow - booze for your surgery.....that's not a confidence builder! Later I found out someone joked to him "no thanks, I tanked up on it last night" and he sat there dead faced as apparently tequila thins the blood! Ah what a site that would have been to see!! Dina

Hi, my Kelley Hunny!! You'd BETTER be stayin' away from that tea! I left instructions with Joyful C. and Mo on how to peel you off the ceiling if you went on a tea binge again...you were a GOOD girl, now, weren't you?!? They didn't hafta do a "Tea Intervention", did they? As for the problem with your mom/dad, whenever I have to get sticky labels ( like price tags) offa sumpin', I use lighter fluid. Dissolves that glue in a nanosecond. Ya might wanna try that on 'em...unless one of 'em smokes... Oh, my Joyful C!! I really missed you, too! But I knew you and Mo and Kelley would hold down the fort (not to mention Whitney and all the others...). We wouldn't be the "Executive Board Of The Board" if we couldn't handle it!! We're rough! We're tough! We're pre-op MARCHERS!! Well, after today, it's only 10 more workdays for me 'til I get gutted! I may not be in tomorrow, either...flare-up is REALLY gettin' my attention today! I'm so fed up with Da Boss Lady that I have very little guilt 'bout not going in. Every time I move, I thank GOD that my RNY is only up the road a bit!! Looks like you've got an entire FLOCK of Canaries now, Joyous one!!. I can't believe how many are checkin' in now. We're gonna bust Spring in with a SHOUT! (Or a scream...like "I WANT MORE DRUGS!!" ) Yup, we gots us a whole FAMILY to look after now!
