I just ordered my stainless steel medic alert bracelet through makemethis.com I have three lines My Name RNY Gastric Bypass No NG W/O Endoscope It cost me less than 6.00 including shipping. When I get it, I'll rip off the bracelet it comes with and add one that I've made. My buddy Michelle got her bracelet from these guys and she makes her own beaded bracelets to match her clothes. THANKS!! It hadn't even occured to me to get a bracelet, but having read your email, I went to makemethis.com and just ordered myself one, too. It's a great idea to get this bracelet, should any future problems occur that would necessitate needing a feeding tube. I had wondered about the possibility of getting a NG tube should an accident occur, but now I will no longer worry. Thanks for giving us all a " heads up", Connie! Rita

I asked my dr about getting a bracelet. He did not think the risk was great enough to justify wearing one all the time. He said if the insert an ng tube correctly, they would not harm anything anyway, at least after healing. But, of course, I would tell anyone if I was able. Just another perspective... Joy (3/1)

Hey, Joyous C!! My surgeon said the same thing...but he DID say he gives us a Medic Alert card to keep in our wallets with our 'emergency info' that says we've had WLS, blah blah blah. I've seen a couple of gold bracelets that aren't too bad (on eBay), they don't really look like the normal medic alert bracelets. But with the job I'll be going back to, we're not allowed to wear bracelets anyway, so it wouldn't be worth it for me... I think I'm gonna just stick to the card in my wallet. Well, I'm not used to wearing jewelry, so I would probably have a time reminding myself to wear it. Maybe we can get tongue rings with a medicalert charm attached? Think that would work? Bwhahahaha!

Actually, a belly button ring with a dangle would work well...

Joy, I think the belly-button ring idea is great:: I think I just might do that after I've had the tummy tuck and get my new belly button. I've seen the little medic alert charms!! We could just make it a sign of the Marchers -- all of us make a pact to get belly button rings with our medic alert on it. Whatcha think? Whitney

Hey, I LIKE the belly-button rings the BEST!! But since I probably won't be able to AFFORD plastic sx. afterward, I'm figuring I can pierce any one of the skin flaps I'll have and wear it THERE! I like it! I like it ALOT!!! Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to all Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles Zero-minus-21 and counting!
