Goal Fund

Has anyone started a goal fund yet? I have a 5 gallon water cooler jug and I'm throwing in all loose change, stray bills and anything people leave behind in the couch or I find in the washer. I'm also putting in anything I get from my medical reimbursement account. I have no idea what I'll spend it on once I hit goal. Any suggestions? Connie

My WLS doctor said that if we saved all the money that we don't spend on food during the next 18 months we would save enough for a tummy tuck, even if we don't have insurance coverage! I thought it was an interesting idea. I know our eating out bills sure will drop! Joy (3/1)

Hi Connie, I started a goal fund. I'm planning to use mine for a tummy tuck in case insurance won't approve it. One thing I've learned though, is that if you get infections or rashes in your skin during your weight loss, make SURE you call you Dr. and have them DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. I have discovered that if you have infections or rashes most insurances will consider the tummy tuck a "medical necessity" and will approve it. But you have to have VERY GOOD documentation. I know that with Tricare (military) they consider it a medical necessity if you have 3 yeast infections in your skin folds within a year and they will pay for it then but you have to have excellent documentation. The same goes if you get rashes or infections under or around your breasts. Some insurances will cover a breast reduction for that reason too. So be sure you all have your PCP document really well for you because you may just get your surgery approved that way! Sorry, didn't mean to go on and on but I wanted to be sure everyone knows that. Why pay for this out of your goal fund if you don't have to. If I don't have to pay for a tummy tuck I plan to use mine to buy NEW CLOTHES!!!! Woohoo!!! Can't wait to shop in the regular sizes!!!!!! I agree about the insurance. I think I have enough documentation already for tummy tuck and breast lift, but we'll see. I wil definitely be pushing this as far as I can go, but I won't wait years for approval. I will go back to Mexico if I have to.... Dina

VERY GOOD explanation, CCQC!!! (I dunno what I'd buy with the $$...really, truly don't know. Since there's always SOMETHING going wrong with something in my life, I'm sure I'll be spending my 'savings' as I go. So goes my life! ) Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to all Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles Zero-minus-21 and counting!

Nope, haven't started one yet....Think I will though. Gots to get me a big jug and seal it, cause if not, I'll keep dipping into to it and it will never fill up. I'm bad like that... If I do get it filled up then I think it would all go to new clothes!!!! Kelley 23 days and a wake up!
