Hi Kelly, I am new to the site. My surgery date is March 3rd so I am getting a late start on getting ready. I need to find a good protien shake. I am going to go out and buy some samples this weekend. Are they cheaper online? Or more variety online? Do you recommend a certain one? If you could give me some pointers that would be great!! As a newbie I am open to any suggestions!! Melissa

Hey Melissa, Congrats on your surgery date!!!! And Welcome to the "Marchers" I really liked the WHEY FRUITY fruit punch and the lemonade one. They are just like juice and easy to get down. All you do is add water to them (about 10 oz) and some ice and shake away. You could also put it into the blender with alot of ice and make yourself a "slushy", great for a hot summer day! I'm really not into the "milky" ones. I haven't found one that I've liked. I did however get a free sample today of the ProPlete Gold Vanilla Pinapple protein shake. You can add skim milk or water to this one. I'm gonna try it tonight. I'll let ya know how it is. I do think that it is cheaper to order your protein mixes online, and you find a much better variety. Today I also got the Nectar Apple Ecstasy and the Nectar Strawberry Kiwi. Those are juice ones also... So anyway, I would suggest you order some samples so you'll have an Idea of the ones you like. I TRIED THE FREE SAMPLES AND I KNOW WHY THEY ARE FREE. GAG A MAGGOT. BUT I SUGGEST EVERYONE TRY THEM. PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT TASTE AND IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM AT LEAST YOULL KNOW WHAT A REALLY BAD PROTEIN DRINK TASTES LIKE.LOL LADONNA 17 DAYS TO GO!!!!

Did you add EXTRA water to them???? They are yucky without the extra water! WAY to sweet and thick... I added about 4 extra ounces of water to mine and they tasted good... Kelley

Thanks for the advice kelly. I am going to try some samples to prepare. I guess everyone's taste is different. I am just nervous because I have never drank anything like this before. I'll keep you posted. Melissa

Ok, I ordered my samples today.  I've only tried the "milky" ones and I don't mind them. (especially since I'm a chocolate freak).  The lemonade sounds yummy!  I was wondering how I was going to mix with H2O only post-op. Thanks for the link Karla
