Hi Lisa...I dont know either if its normal or not but Im am having the same thoughts as you. My surgery date in March 10, one minute I am so happy to be getting this done, next minute I am scared to death wondering what the heck am I doing. My mom, dad, and sister had this done and they are all new people for the better....so I keep telling myself Ill be the same....but deep down Im scared too. I just try to keep coming on here and reading the positive things, it seems to help some.Good luck to you and try to stay calm...I know easier said then done

It really helps to know that I'm not alone.I want this so badly it brings me to tears and yet thinking about the actual surgery scares me so also...Oh well. In God we trust.

you are not crazy. I was approved back in December and I set my own date for March 4th. I wanted to make sure I was totally prepared. But I have gone through all the ranges of emotion. One minute I am elated the next I am looking a death. That kind of stuff... now just want it to happen.

Yes you are NORMAL!!!!! Remember this "God brought us to it, He will bring us through it" !! We all have our own kinds of fears about this surgery, it is very normal. Most would say there is something wrong with you if you had NO fears at all. Don't worry Lisa, you are gong to be just fine and we'll all be waiting to see your " I'm Home" post. Just relax and think about the positive things. Stop focusing on all the negative things, it will really bring ya down, trust me I know this... Remember, we are all here for you. Oh and, Congrats on getting your date!!! and Welcome to the "Marchers" !!! Kelley 28 days and a wake up!!

Hey Lisa, Congrats! I feel a Happy Dance coming on!! I agree with the rest of the group. I'd be worried if you weren't scared. This is a major surgery and a major life change. If you weren't scared then I'd question if you had read enough and had be properly informed by your doctor. Welcome, keep posting. You gotta question, one of us will have an answer or will find out for you. Happy thoughts, Va 19 sunrises to the beginning of my new life

Yes Lisa, you definately are normal. We all go through our ups and downs through this process. It's an emotional time, but we will all be the better for it in the long run. Keep on coming here and we will try to make it an easier ride for you. Welcome aboard, Whitney

Hey Lisa... like everybody else said, you are totally normal. Just think I was suppose to have had the surgery done back in September/2003. I was approved and all I had to do was get my pysch evaluation and my consultation with the doctor which was Sept. 12, 2003. I didn't make it to either one. I totally chickened out I have come to my senses now and my date is 3/15/04 one day before yours. How about that??? Like I tell everybody else God is good and he will see All Of Us through our new life change 304lbs/31 days in counting

Hi Lisa, It took me 2 1/2 years to reach the point where I was ready to even call for a consultation. But once I did, I knew that I was ready for this. I am fairly fortunate, because I went for one consultation on January 15. Was not so sure about the doctor, found a 2nd doctor (whom I think is wonderful) very soon after that, and my surgery date is March 22. I am excited with the thought of life on the losing side. BUT ......... I am also a bit scared. The real terror hasn't set in yet. Wait til you see what I have to say on March 21 .. I will be quaking in my flip flops I am sure. Keep coming back to this board. Some of us are a bit nuts .. but we are nice nuts.. Hugs, Mo (with the happy dancin' feet )
