What a day!!!
I had my psych evaluation this afternoon at 2:15 then left from there for an interim appointment with my doctor.
Both went GREAT.
The psychologist said I was 'sane' .. but we ALL know that is a relative term. Seriously though, she said that I was doing ok, and that there was nothing in what we talked about that would cause her to give the doc any negative feedback!!! Whew .. that is a major relief.
Then it was on to the doctor. I almost had a hissy fit when the scales had only dropped 3 pounds in two weeks, after being so good at following my pre-op food plan. BUT, the doctor was very pleased with my food diary and my choices and he's confident that I won't have a problem on the other side. My food plan now isnt' really that much different than the way I have been eating for the last 18 or so months anyway, but I have been really good about the carbs and not letting them slip in even on weekends. I miss my Coronas ..
Saving the BEST for last tho ... while I was there Carefirst called with my approval!!! I didn't think it would be an issue, but I still feel so much better that it's done with 5 plus weeks to spare. Of course, we still have to make sure that it's approved for the RIGHT doctor. I had started with BTC in Langhorne PA, and switched to Delmarva Bariatric because BTC seemed so obessed with the $$ AND they don't participate with Carefirst BC/BS. I found out today that BTC had already applied for a case # with Carefirst, so it's just a matter of clarifying it, BUT .. I have my APPROVAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I go back to the doctor again on March 4 for my pre-op and March 18 I go to have my IVC filter implanted (or what ever it is they do with it). I need to call my PCP and have an EKG and go to the diagnostic center for a chest Xray and I am on my way. Woooooooooooooooohooooooooooo!
Watch out world, Mo's doin' a happy Mo dance !!!!!!!!!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
I never doubted my Mo Fiend would blow thru this with flying colors! (Altho the psych test...well, ah, yeah...I never doubted...)
Didja hafta do the MMI2 or whatever that goofy zillion-questioned test was? I HOWLED when I was doing it......I wanted to 'play' with them so-o-o-o very badly and answer "yes" to the priceless statements like "I feel like sticking this pencil into my left eye" or "I hear voices in my head speaking in foreign languages" or "my invisible friend buries the dead bodies in my yard of people I strangle". I could've had a FIELD day with them! But this was too serious, I didn't want to have to delay anything, and I figured that being formally proclaimed a menace to society may just make My Corporate Masters take a second look at me... So I was a good girl (which showed great discipline, according to the shrink...I told him how tempted I was, and he just laughed...) and they deemed me "normal" too. Shows what THEY know!
I did the same BTC boogie, but with the one here in Ypsilanti, MI. They called me the day before my PATs to make sure I knew they weren't "in network" with my PPO, too, and I'd have to pay my catastrophic limit plus my $500 deductible...$10,500+. Ah, no, I DIDN't know that, couldn't they have figured that out 4 months earlier? So that's how I found my wonderful surgeon, and I'm so glad I did. I don't feel "production line" now, my surgeon only performs three WLSs each week, and each of us is a PERSON to him with a LIFE, not just a 'case'. God was good to put that brake on BTC for me. But...my approval was for the BTC surgeon. I explained that to the gal who takes care of my surgeon's WLS patients (that's all she does), and she said she'd contact my insurance. I just got the letter last week switching from the BTC surgeon to my REAL surgeon. That's probably what'll happen with yours...NBD at all!
So VERY happy for ya, toots! I'm doin' the happy dance WITH you!!
