You Gals Are So Lucky!!!!
I live up in Ontario Canada. I am going to to Toronto to have my surgery. So there is no support groups here and I personally don't know anyone who has had the surgery. Most of all I am envious of the clothing exchange that I have heard about. Oh well I will soon enough be able to buy smaller size clothing
Does anyone else worry about the size transformation and how they are going to buy clothes at each different size? I don't know why I am complaining I should be happy. Maybe I am just getting nervous March 4th is coming fast.

Don't feel left out of the clothing exchange. It is done by MAIL. For those that don't know, the idea is that the clothing is posted by those who have out-shrunk it. It is free, or postage only to whoever can use it. The only catch is that you agree to re-post it when you out-shrink it. It is a great idea! Just think, each item you enter will help multiple people! They need more participants--we could make that the first MARCHER WLS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT. How many of us will commit to putting in one or more items that we don't need any more? (We may be helping mostly each other!!) It would not hurt to post here when we add something...

You betcha...I'm in! That's one of the things I'm gonna do while I'm off: start separating my mounds of clothes into sizes...
The "Marcher's WLS Community Project" is a WAAAAAAAAAY great idea, Joyful C.!! (...and she wonders why I always call her Joyful! DUH!). I'm always one of the first people who gets pulled in to projects like that here at work or in my spectrum of friends/family. I've always been a "contributor". My FAVORITE one was "Otter Aid" (yes, that's Otter Aid...like SEA Otters...). It was when that oil tanker grounded in Alaska and the oil slick was killing all the animals. Now, I'm not a PETA person here, but it made me ILL to see those pitiful things slicked down with oil and dying. So I started "Otter Aid" at work: I forget how many tons of towels we collected, but I used my Bro-In-Law USMC Master Seargent's "Toys for Tots" barrels and put them at the front doors of several facilities for people to put their old towels in, and we boxed 'em up, paid the postage, and sent 'em to Alaska to help wash down the animals. I'm a bit of an artist, so I drew a picture of a sea otter drying himself off with a towel, drops of water flying, with the motto "Give a towel. It'll make you feel good to help one an-otter!". Much to my chagrin, the poster went everywhere, including the media (I was soo embarrassed...). But I've always been a 'giver'. Yup, I haven't thought 'bout 'Otter Aid' for YEARS!!!

Yes I am getting nervous & excited ! I in fact I bought a red Ann Klein strapless swimsuit this evening size 10 it was only $3.50 new at goodwill. And I am hoping to fit into this summer maybe I am dreaming, if its not big enough for me I have a friend who owns a resale shop who would trade me something that does fit me. I am wondering how we can figure what size to buy jsut to a few of each size or so. I cant wait to need all new stuff and trying stuff on thats something I stopped doing along time ago & miss. My date is March 1st so I am counting the days!!!!!!!!! Best of luck!!!!!!! See you on the loosing side!!!!!!!!!

Hey Karen,
I'm a pack rat, so I have clothes back 3 different sizes. Then I have some clothes that were my mom's that pick up at 18 and run through 14, most of those are dress clothes though.
Wal-mart will probably see most of my dollars for "new" clothes until I stabilize.
I'm sure some folks on the boards would be happy to ship you some clothes if you all could work a deal on shipping. $20 or so to UPS to ship a big box of clothes is most assuredly cheaper than buying them new.
Anyway, it's an idea.

THREE sizes? I go thru three sizes every DAY!
I actually have clothes at home from size 6 to 24. There's some stuff from my 'skinny' days that I just couldn't bear to give away. Good thing now...some of 'em will be re-worn.
I see my nieces walk around in "flares" (God forbid they call 'em bell-bottoms) and peasant tops and just shake my head and say "you'd've had a field day with my clothes that YOUR MOM threw away for me...you'd have complete wardrobes! I guess it's true that everything old is new again!

Yo, Karen...
I'm an HONORARY Canadian!! I live in the northern Detroit suburbs and my Mom and I go shopping in Windsor at LEAST once a month!! It's actually my favorite place to go when I need to chill or get away for a while. Where in Ontario do you live?
The clothing exchange costs nothing but postage. ANYONE can take part in it. I sell on eBay, and I assure everyone that the postage ain't no thang!!! Some eBay sellers won't sell outside of the states...I'll send it anywhere.
So quit yer fretting! You're not gonna need to win the Lotto to keep yourself in clothes as you lose...you'll be able to use the clothing exchange just like everyone ELSE on OH can!
